Description

This is a very comfortable “home from home”, furnished to an exceptional standard with a mixture of contemporary and antique furniture and fully air-conditioned, making it the perfect place to return after a busy days sightseeing for one or two families or a group of friends who wish to enjoy the history and character of Seville. This home's privileged location puts Seville's history literally at your doorstep.

Situated in the heart of the historical centre (La Judería), the house is located in the pedestrian-only side of one of the most ancient and beautiful streets in Seville.

One facade is opposite the medieval palace of Don Miguel de Mañara, on whose early life is based the universal character of Don Juán Tenorio. The original medieval palace was “modernised” to Renascence style in the XVI c. and it has been declared Historical Patrimony of Spain.

The other facade faces an orange-tree lined street opposite the church of St. Bartholomew, built in XVIII

The other facade faces an orange-tree lined street opposite the church of St. Bartholomew, built in XVIII c. over the ancient central synagogue.

The House of Pilate (built in XVI c. as a copy of the praetorium of Pontius Pilate in Jerusalem), Jardines de Murillo, Parque de Maria Luisa, Plaza de España, Torre del Oro, Royal Alcázares and the Cathedral (La Giralda) are within a five to 10 minute walk radius from the house.

If visiting Seville in Easter -the “Semana Santa”- this quiet location allows living in the heart of the festivity without the inconvenience of the heavy traffic for access to the city centre during these days.

The river banks and the “Feria de Sevilla” are within a 15 minute walking distance.

The house is close to all the amenities and the myriad of restaurants, cafes and night-life of Seville, including “La Carbonería” at the far end of the street, an iconic venue in Seville's night-life that offers live flamenco as well as a cosmopolitan, bustling atmosphere.

The five-bedroomed, five-bathroomed house is fully air-conditioned (heat and cold) with individual controls in each room, additional wall-mounted radiators and constant hot water circulation for permanent access to hot water in every tap of the house within seconds. The five stucco and marble bathrooms are fully equipped. All bedrooms have built-in wardrobes. The house is fitted with alarm and a lift for comfortable access to all floors and it has its own secure private garage (rented separately only for long lets).

The ground floor contains an ample hall, one master bedroom, one double bedroom and one family bathroom with walk-in shower.

The first floor contains the five-balconied 430 sq. ft. living-room and adjoining dining area with an antique Bohemian crystal chandelier over a design dining table that can sit up to ten people comfortably. There is also a family bathroom and a modern, fully-appointed kitchen with a relaxing view over the orange trees by the church facade.

The second floor contains a second master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a further double bedroom and a separate family bathroom.

The beds are 1 king-size (160x180 cm) and eight 1x2 meter beds. All beds are fitted with brand new top quality mattresses.

The third floor contains the gas boiler, washing machine and clothes-dryer. It gives access to a 700 sq. ft. roof terrace fitted with a canopy, sofa, armchairs, coffee table and a separate dining table and chairs for outside dining or entertaining whilst enjoying beautiful sunset views over the rooftops and churches of the historical centre of Seville and the Giralda. If you wish to sunbathe instead, you can refresh yourself in the outdoor shower.

There is a LCD TV in the living room, DVD player, wi-fi, a small library with books in Spanish and English and a selection of toys to keep the young members of the family amused.

All linen, towels, soap and shampoo are supplied.

“Wonderful Sevilla house!”

Reviewed 31 Oct 2012

We were a family of 6 and this house was perfect, fully equipped, with sparkling marble floors, beautiful French windows and a large roof terrace. It is perfectly situated with no passing traffic except the congregation of the ancient church across the street whose beautiful bell tower you can almost touch from the roof terrace (the Giralda visible in the distance). Just steps away is Don Juan's house, La Carboneria and Bar Levies and the beauty of Santa Cruz. The owners, Benjamin and Maria, were as kind and helpful as can be. Will go back for sure!

“Fantastic house !”

Reviewed 4 Sep 2012

This very beautiful, very elegant and comfortable house is located in the heart of historic part of Seville (very central). It's very big, mix of modern and ancient furniture, very clean with noble materials and furniture. The house is full of charm and very quiet, with an elevator inside, which is very convenient to carry luggages. There is a big top floor terrace to relax. It's exactly as described on the advert and on the photos of the house and even Better. Two families may largely stay in this house as it is very big. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very pretty and it is very pleasant to have breakfast in the kitchen. The hall entrance is huge and very comfortable. The land owners are very helpful and very nice. They were present the day of our arrival and explained us everything concerning the house and when we left, they drove us to reach the motorway to Cordoba. Seville is a fantastic city. Next time we come back, we definitely stay at Calle Levies house. We highly recommend this house.
