Description

Le Manoir de Servies is built into the outskirts of the village walls, and in previous years has been an old school house. It is spacious enough to enable families to holiday together without getting on top of each other, and with local amenities such as a restaurant, bakery, butchers , cellier and general store all located in the village of Servies en Val, you need not even leave the village if you so desire.

A luxurious conversion incorporating retention original beams throughout. The house boasts a sweeping Languedoc style curved staircase with original old stone walls in hallways which leads up to the 5 beautiful bedrooms decorated with antique french furniture. There is an additional sun room with a sofa bed and a play room with a sofa bed too.

The Manoir boasts 2 living rooms with large luxurious sofas, both with wood burning stoves, 2 plasma screen TVs and Sky channels, DVD player, play stations and wireless speakers. There is a library stocked with books and DVD's and comfy chairs to relax in solitude, and for further escapism away from the heated pool, there is a roof terrace adjoining the sun room with loungers.

Luxury fitted kitchen includes built in dishwasher , microwave , large cooking range. There is a large American fridge with freezer and granite work tops throughout. Separate laundry room containing sink and washing machine, and storage.

Upstairs there 30 foot playroom for children with a sofa bed. The En suite off master bedroom has a bath as well as a shower, there are 2 further shower/toilet rooms first floor and there is a downstairs toilet. All bathrooms including poolside are tiled with Italian travertine.

The Heated Swimming Pool and Summer Kitchen: The outside pool area of the pool has been designed to allow for relaxation and swimming but allow for alfresco dining with an amazing backdrop view of the mountains, complete with an outdoor kitchen that has a luxury polished concrete worktop, a large BBQ and an outdoor electrical grill,a sink and cupboards for cups and outdoor glasses and plates. Luxury teak loungers line the pool with a smaller table and chairs which is perfect for enjoying your breakfast whilst watching the sunrise. There is a custom built dining table with benches that easily seats 12 -14 people, perfect for enjoying meals with family and friends. There is also a fridge, essential for keeping your drinks cool whilst basking in the sun. Adjacent to the pool is a travertine tiled wet room shower,together with a toilet and sink. The outdoor terrace is perfect for sitting and having an aperitif or cocktail and watching the sun go down whilst waiting for your BBQ dinner, bliss!

We are really happy to help you with any part of your holiday from recommending places to eat and day trips to questions about the house and the location, the best airports to fly into etc. We have a fantastic Property Manager Jean Marc who will meet you and show you around the house when you arrive, we use a key safe for you to collect your key, just outside the house and then Jean Marc visits later on on the day of your arrival to show you the property and answer any questions you may have. Jean Marc lives locally and will provide you with his details in case of any queries or problems whilst you are staying at Le Manor de Servies.

“Fantastic house”

Just arrived home this evening and missing the house already. We looked for a considerable time to find a 'perfect' house for our family to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. And perfect it was! The house is vast and the atmosphere and quality is hard to describe. We were a family of 10 ranging from late 70's to a little 5 year old and the house accommodated us all with ease. We encountered a 'heat wave' and although it was warm overnight there were plenty of fans to make it manageable. The pool was the 'icing on the cake' and boy did we put it to good use when the temperature reached 39 degrees. We ate poolside every day. The outside kitchen and inside kitchen compliment each other and anything and everything you could ever need are included. The children loved the play room and it was a great place to escape the heat of the day. Our two girls loved a couple of visits by a friendly cat that appeared from the roof tiles into the sun room. We also loved the village.......everyone from our neighbours to the locals who walked past and the local shop keepers and restaurant people could not of been more friendly and we felt part of a local community. The 'festival' was on for 3 nights when we arrived and the band played till 4am (brilliant, but glad it was only short lived) as we preferred the sound of the local donkey! The children did a treasure hunt round the village and the highlight was seeing a cat with a toad! We had some lovely trips out and the area was both beautiful and quiet. We have a holiday home ourselves in Cornwall and we seriously spoke about selling and buying in this area.....we fell in love with it. Thank you for sharing your home with us......it is a credit to your hard work. You have equipped it better than anywhere we have ever stayed and yet it was so 'family friendly' and felt like a place to 'live' rather than holiday. To quote my son "inside feels like a luxury home and the outside feels like luxury camping"...... a great combination.

Have visited the property twice, both during druing the summer months, once as a couple and once with children. We found the house spacious, cool and very relaxing. The location means you are away from the noise of the city but still close enough to neighboring villages and towns with all of the amenities you could need. For example the house is within 30 minutes of Carcassonne where we visited more than once for dinner. Id reccommend this to anyone looking to explore a beautful region of France from within the confines of an immaculate house.

House has loads of space with large individual rooms which have authentic French furniture. The bathrooms and shower rooms have a modern clean finish. kitchen and dining area are great for family meals with plenty of storage and prep surfaces. Sky Tv and DVD player keep kids entertained. Swimming pool area has everything you need as there is a great eating and outdoor kitchen with barbecue. Ample sunbathing and relaxation area with WIFI, very safe for kids as is self contained. The house is in a small town which is small enough to be friendly but still has handy services like baker, butcher,small convenience store, wine shop and resturant/bar. Very pleasant countryside for walks especially around river. Great attractions within short drive, my kids especially enjoyed the O2 park at the local lake which had loads zip wires and climbing areas.

We stayed here with friends and 4 young children last summer. We had a brilliant time. The house is furnished to a high standard, and the pool area is safe and idyllic both in the sun and out of it. The local village is friendly and accommodating and we loved tacking trips out in the surrounding countryside. We are booked in again for 2013!

We stayed here last summer and had an incredible time. The house is spacious and the conversion has been done with obvious care, the property retaining many original features. It is set in a traditional rural village with amazing views of the countryside, especially from the roof terrace. The swimming pool completely sets this place apart. If you are after a relaxing holiday, away from the hustle of everyday life this is the place to escape.
