Villa Karina is ideally suited for many types of holiday being only 6 minutes from one of Puglia's most important nature reserves - Torre Guaceto and its beautiful beaches and clear water. Many other lovely beaches are within easy reach. Our local town, Carovigno, is a 'foodie' centre with its Michelen star restaurant and many other excellent eateries around the piazza and its narrow streets and castle. There are so many beautiful cities in close proximity but the Trulli town of Alberobello, Lecce with its stunning architecture and Roman remains, beautiful Matera, with its cave dwellings still in use, Gallipoli with its lovely beaches on a tiny island attached to the mainland by a bridge are all within an hour's drive. Fasano Zoo Safari and Theme Park, a must for the little ones and also the not so little ones! The Puglia region
The Puglia region has lovely long hot summers with mild winters.
There are so many places of historic interest it would be impossible to list them all.
Puglia is an unspolit area only just being discovered by tourists. It has the longest coastline of any Italian state with many beautiful beaches.Puglia is very fertile and produces a large proportion of Italy's olive oil and fruit and vegetables
Many activities are available including cycling, horse riding,go-karting, golf (within an hour's drive).
Beaches are mainly of white sand which shelve gently into the crystal clear seas of the Adriatic.
One of Puglia's greatest assets is its cuisine. At every turn you will find restaurants serving good, reasonably priced meals made with good quality ingredients. The fruit and vegetables of the region have to be seen and tasted to be believed and are best purchased at the many local markets or from street merchants. The area around Serranova and Carovigno remains unspoilt and just on the edge of the more touristy centres of the Itria valley allowing for peace and quiet but easy access to sights if required.

"Ticks every box for a great family holiday!"
Just booked our return holiday to Villa Karina and are so looking forward to returning to Puglia. The villa was perfect for our family and anyone with small children will love this house which really feels like a home from home. It is especially practical with two fridges, very well equipped kitchen, sky TV, DVD’s and fully air con. The villa is nestled in an acre of private grounds with an amazing crop of pear, apple, damson, apricot, fig and lemon trees there for the taking. There's also olive, almond & walnut tree's there to help yourself to when they are in harvest. The huge swimming pool is beautiful, private and secluded and the children were kept entertained with the boogie boards and pool inflatable’s which had been kindly left out by the owners. If you can drag the kids away from the pool the Go Karting near San Vito dei Normanni was great fun and good value (10 euros). The Theme Park, Zoo Safari in Fasano (25 min drive) was very popular and again reasonably priced entrance fee. (8 euros) If you fancy a trip to the beach, I can recommend Torre Guaceto Reserve which is only 6 minutes away by car. We tended to head out early with our packed lunch and returned to spend the afternoon poolside at the villa or having a tranquil afternoon in the hammocks surrounded by pine trees. Fresh figs were heavenly and fresh lemons in your G & T even better!

"Perfect sunshine bolt hole!"
I spent a week in Villa Karina last July with my 3 boys aged 12, 11 and 8 and my friend and her two daughters aged 12 and 10. We had the most wonderful week! The pool is beautiful and kept the kids amused for hours, but the joy is that there is also a more shaded area for them to 'hang out' in during the heat of the day. The villa is well equipped and has a really homely feel. We ventured out to sample the local cuisine and had some fantastic and very reasonably priced meals. We also visited a few local beaches and took the children go-carting, all in all a lovely holiday and i would love to return soon.
