Description from owner

Description

A beautiful, cosy, three bedroom cottage with a capacity for up to six grown ups and two children in a rural setting. Used to be a bakery, possibly the first one that ever existed in the region. Before, it was common for each family to bake their own bread, they would usually make a batch of bread during the weekend and it would have to last the entire week. From watching the water fowls to taking care of the bees, there is always plenty to do around here. Enjoy a traditional rural lifestyle, eat pure, allow your children or grandchildren to play with the animals, feed them, hold a freshly picked orange, milk goats, have a taste of what endless space and freedom really feel like, climb trees, tend crops, try our wine(not the kids) go to bed tired but happy. A 360 inch full HD panoramic screen with one channel only: nature. Explore our beautiful region, drink from springs, leap small streams, spot wild animals, climb impressive rocky formations and enjoy the outstanding scenery. Remember,

Remember, where some don't see a path, others see plenty. Lots of farm related activities that will make you feel as a true native and help you understand food, the tools, the environment, animal care, interdependence or an unique lifestyle. Matança's ancient name was Great killing. This region is full of history, battles, fortresses, burial sites, bridges and roads for the armies to travel. And yet, it's is now so peaceful and prosperous.

“Fabulous time”

Reviewed 4 Jan 2017

What a fantastic place. Ricardo is very efficient and the cottage was spotless and fire was on when we arrived. Beautifully restored home in an authentic Portuguese way. Quiet location but we were in the snowy mountains in just over an hour. Lots of beautiful walks and places to visit. Absolutely loved it Definitely will return. Thanks Ricardo
