Description

Set in the small fishing town of Selsey, 8 miles from Chichester, Beach House really offers you a way to have an all year round unforgettable family holiday. A fantastic light, open plan living room leads onto the well equipped kitchen which includes a dishwasher, gas cooker, double oven and american style fridge/freezer. It also leads to a conservatory space so is ideal for friends and family to cook and eat together.

Stepping out of the french doors from either the kitchen or living room directly onto the patio- with the sea being only a stone's throw from the house- there really is no excuse not to have a swim! Don't worry, if you get cold there is always the option of warming up in the sauna. There is a separate, contemporary dining room which also has side access to the gas BBQ. A handy utility room offers a washing machine, tumble dryer and plenty of space for coats, shoes and your buckets and spades. There is also a seperate 'den' for the kids to

There is also a seperate 'den' for the kids to escape to with a small games table.

Take your time to enjoy the sea where the waters are shallow and the tide can go out a few hundred yards be it swimming, diving, kite surfing, windsurfing, fishing, fossil hunting, making sandcastles or just looking out over the view to the Isle of Wight. The famous East and West Witterings are also just a short drive away.

Further details

Unfortunately all of the bedrooms are upstairs, making this unsuitable for either the elderly or disabled that cannot manage stairs. Two of the double rooms are only accessible via a spiral staircase.

Further details indoors

Upstairs there are four large double rooms -one also has a day bed which pulls out to make up a double if you require the extra sleeping accommodation, one triple bunk bedroom and a single bed snug. There is also a travel cot available.
The spacious living room has a gas fire, TV and plenty of dvd's, videos, cd's, books, toys and games keeps you entertained. There is enough space in Beach House to lose yourself, yet still have a family holiday, being lulled to sleep by the sea lapping outside your window.

Further details outdoors

There is a garden to the side and direct access to the beach. The tide can go out a long way leaving only sand and the famous Selsey fossils to explore.

Location description from owner

The England region

This area is Britain's sunniest place to live, which offers hopefully plenty of hours to explore the area. Selsey is a relatively quiet fishing town, 8 miles from Chichester, which is a city not to be missed. With it's famous cathedral theatre, festivals and shops there is so much to do. Or you could explore the wonderful South Downs and have a gentle walk or exert yourself a little more and try some mountain biking. There is also the option of mountain boarding (not for the faint-hearted!) Brighton is close by or how about a day trip to the Isle of Wight?

Selsey

Selsey also hosts the Selsey Festival, Lifeboat Week, Firework Night and the Christmas Parade. Also, of the main local attractions is Pagham Harbour nature reserve which visitors flock to, (just a short walk along east beach shore) for the south coast’s finest bird watching. This unique area has quite rightly been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Chichester Festival, Glorious Goodwood, Festival of Speed, Fontwell Races, the South Downs, Brighton and many other possibilities to explore.
The house is also great as a base to visit other locations in Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey etc. London is also only an hour and a half away, easily accessible by train or car.

“Wow factor house, great for the entire family!”

Reviewed 23 Jun 2013

On arrival at the house, walking in all we could say was "wow"! We were staying here for a long weekend as a family of 7 adults and 5 children for a 60th birthday, and wanted to stay all together. The set up was great, as its 2 houses knocked together so has two upstairs areas accessed by different stairs. This meant the older children could all sleep in the kiddies rooms, next to their parents, and the youngest with his parents and his nanny could stay in the other section.....the rooms were very large, great when you need to fit a cot in the room. We also had a nice little welcome pack which had a few treats in which was a lovely touch. Its definitely an entertaining house, and thats what we wanted. The only issues were the garden would have benefitted us if it was sectioned off so the younger children couldn't run down the slope onto the promenade area which had a reasonable drop to the beach area. Younger children had to be supervised if they ever went down to the promenade however older children were fine as they know the risks of being near a drop - but thats just common sense. The view from the house was great, and the added touch of being able to use the telescope was great, looking out to sea, watching the fishermen, and other boats.....and we were very fortunate to actually see Trevor the seal who swam around to the beach where the house was situated! Selsey itself was a lovely sized town, and had everything we needed to make our stay as good as it was.....I did read reviews that the town was run down, so on arrival driving through I was positively surprised at how it looked, and actually loved the look of the town. All in all it was a fantastic weekend, the house was amazing and I would definitely recommend a group of people wanting to chill out and relax staying here. We will definitely look to return sometime soon.
