The sea is central to this property that is slightly set back from the front which is a combination of grassed area, and pebbled beach. The beach is semi private to the development so is usually less bust than surrounding areas. Selsey which can be reached via a seafront walk is more lively with a sandy beach and local amenities, the choice is yours. What makes Seaview special is that it is truly a family home and consideration has been taken to ensure that holiday makers feel it is home from home, but has the advantage of being on the sea front. Both the rear and front areas of the property have appropriate garden furnishing, and there are also beach chairs and picnic equipment to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Also Butlins in Bognor is only half an hour drive and you can get a day pass to enjoy all the facilities.

Location description from owner

The England region

Combine coast and countryside for a break with a difference. You’re never far from the sea and the varied coastline here - dramatic white cliffs drop to secluded rocky bays, shingle beaches and swathes of golden sand. Just a short drive from the lively cities and towns you’ll find unspoilt landscapes aplenty. West Sussex, located on the coast of central southern England, is a beautiful county with much to offer its visitors. Over half of the county lies in areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with acres of green and pleasant countryside and miles of sunny coastline. On the south coast of West Sussex in the lea of Selsey Bill is the seaside town of Bognor Regis. Bognor was given the title "Regis" in 1929 by King George V, who convalesced here. This is one of the sunniest places in Britain, with lovely clean beaches, parks and gardens, lively cafes, restaurants and pubs.

Selsey

Selsey, nestling between the South Downs and the sea represents the classic English seaside resort - perfect for family holidays in the summer and cosy breaks in winter. In a 2009 poll conducted by Cottages4you Selsey was crowned best beachcombing location in the UK by Holidaymakers. There are a wide variety of sports and activities available, such as diving, snorkelling, fishing, kayaking, golf, cycling and bird watching. Alternatively laze on the beach or stroll along the seashore promenade and enjoy the inspirational sea views. Butlins in Bognor Regis is only half an hour drive and you can get a day pass to enjoy all the fun all day!Watch the small fleet of inshore fishing boats bringing in the famous “Selsey Crab” and then treat yourself to “tastes of the sea” at the many local restaurants, seafront cafes and waterfront pubs. Visit the Lifeboat Station and its museum to find out more about the daring rescues of the RNLI. You might even be lucky enough to see the launch of the Lifeboat. In the summer months Selsey buzzes with the sound of music and festivities with a variety of fetes, carnivals and festivalsCompact and intimate, Chichester is made for exploring. There’s history on every corner, from the Tudor Market Cross to the dominant Norman cathedral. But Chichester does modern too with Pallant House Art Gallery and its new high-tech, high spec exhibition halls. There’s fun shopping, with designer label boutiques, stylish restaurants, organic cafés and gastro pubs – a haven for any ‘professional shopper’. See new drama and old favourites at the internationally acclaimed Chichester Festival Theatre. Plus there’s an eclectic programme of music and arts at festivals and concerts throughout the district. For the more adventurous, the classic South Downs countryside is just minutes away. With plenty of outdoor activities on offer, from walking and horse riding to exploring cycle routes and hot air ballooning, you’ll never be lost for something to see and do.

“Good location, comfortable stay.”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2016

Seaview is in a great location, literally a minutes walk to the beach, and also close enough to nearby attractions and amenities. The beds were very comfortable. The house could do with a little TLC, e.g. the shower head in the family bathroom is no longer attached to the wall - we found this problematic with 7 of us all needing to shower and only being able to use the ensuite shower. Privacy could be improved if there were blinds in the bathrooms. We felt the property was good value for money and would stay there again.

“Excellently located spacious house for family gathering with all modern conveniences.”

Reviewed 17 Jun 2016

The rental cost for this house was reasonable relative to the size of the house. It's also just over an hour to Gatwick. We went to Paultons Park, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and went shopping at Gunwharf Quays. Fishing is also good at Selsey Bill.

“THE OWNER DIDN'T PAY THE DEPOSIT BACK”

Reviewed 2 Jan 2014

After our returning the owner has confirmed that he will transfer the payed deposit during the next days. Unfortunately we didn't received the refund till today (5 months later), even though we have written many mails.

“near the sea homely and comfortable house for large family/group of people”

Reviewed 18 Nov 2012

handy kitchen, few rooms for sitting, dining,TV watching...so plenty of space for numerous children/people;4 great bedrooms;3 toilets,1 bath,1 shower;a fenced garden,a front terrasse and well situated:dead end street leading to the seashore,10min 's walk to the center of the village with all shops and various restaurants and near 3 playgrounds at walking distance!

“Great place to stay on the seafront with my friends!!”

Reviewed 6 Nov 2012

First impressions were great, the house was spacious and very clean and the bedroom sizes were just right for a group of girls visiting the seaside! The sky TV was a plus as we could settle down in the evenings to watch x factor and strictly come dancing when we arrived home! Selsey itself is very quiet so we opted for Chichesterby day which is a bus ride or a short car journey away which was brilliant as there are lots of shops and restaurants in town! Lovely to be right on the beach front too so after a big sunday roast at the local pub a good walk on the pebbles was marvellous!

“Very comfortable and well equipped”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2012

We had a very pleasant stay with a group of teenagers from Spain. The house is very comfortable, perfectly equipped and fully covered our needs. I would highly recommend it and hope to come back some day. Thank you for letting us enjoy Seaview!

“Absolutely perfect holiday home”

Reviewed 6 Jun 2012

First of all I would like to thank the owner of the holiday home for making the booking so easy and straightforward, emails were answered quickly and clearly. Secondly, the house was just perfect, it had everything we needed. We loved the garden for a safe place for the children to play and for the adults to relax and sunbathe on the deckchairs. The location of the property is fantastic, the beach is on the doorstep and we were so pleased to discover an area of green grass with a children's playground 2 minutes away. Inside the house everything was clean and kitchen was well equipped. We loved the two sitting rooms, so there was plenty of place for everyone to sit and the sky tv was a big bonus. All in all, would definitely recommend to families with children and for anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday. Finally, would like to say that Karen the house manager is really friendly and helpful and definitely helped to make us feel that we were being looked after and if we would have any problems we had someone close by to sort it out.

“Well equipped house in very good location”

Reviewed 24 May 2012

we stayed at seaview with our young family and parents and found the house to be very well equipped to cater for babies, toddlers and older children. The house was lovely and our contact at the house was very helpful and friendly. The location of the house is great for walking along the sea front and Selsey is near to various other places we visited (such as Portsmouth, Bognor, West Witterings, Chichester). Would recommend this house to others as good value for money.

“Great location, fab house, want to come back”

Reviewed 12 May 2012

Stayed for nearly a week during Easter school hols. Kids loved the house and the TV room to get away to after a long day out exploring the surrounding area was a nice wind-down for them. Quiet street outside was perfect for them scootering around as well. The house is well equipped, everything we needed. Selsey is a lovely spot and so close to so many activities. We only scratched the surface but the kids loved the butterfly farm, the Arundel Wetlands, Arundel Castle, Fishers Farm Park, the aquarium in Portsmouth and the various amusement parks around. Not to mention strolling along the beach front to the park along the way and watching the fishing boats coming and going off the beach. Perfect really. Was a shame to leave and was a shame was already booked for June when they're next on holidays. Will keep an eye out for another times. Thanks.

“Fantastic stay despite the rain!”

Reviewed 3 May 2012

We had a fantastic weekend at Seaview despite the absolutely awful weather. Very well appointed, perfect for a friends weekend away. Two minutes to the beach and lovely pub with great seafood. Plan to return in better weather to explore Selsey properly. This would be a great house for a family holiday too.
