The Bar

Tibbie Shiels bar is situated in the oldest part of the building, originally named St Mary’s Cottage where Isabella Shiels lived with her Husband and 6 children! This is the hub of the home where all our guests eat, drink and socialise during the late summer months when we operate as an Inn. The bar is ready for you to add you favourite bottles to the optics and serve your family and friends whatever you like! With prior arraignment we can stock the bar with soft drinks and bar snacks of your choice. The bar sits in the middle of what would have been 2 rooms, now open plan, with a multi fuel stove at each end. There is the option to dine in the bar which has direct access to the kitchen.

To arrange fuel for the fire and a welcome hamper please email on booking as this is a separate charge.

The Games Room

Being rural we felt it would be a great advantage to offer our guests a room geared at having indoor fun for those rainy days! This is a large space and can be doubled up as a dining area if you have a big group to seat. We have a projector and screen for cosy cinema days, Nintendo Wii consol, pool and table football and plenty board games to choose from.

The Conservatory

The conservatory sits at the front of the building and is accessed through the games room. You are able to enter and exit the building via the conservatory which leads onto the patio overlooking the large green and St Mary’s Loch.

The Lounge

Our lounge is a comfortable area, secondary to the bar and games room, where you can have some quiet time to catch up on your favourite programme or just read a book and snooze. This room features an open fire, views over the Loch and a wonderful collection of books from classics to modern.
