Description from owner

A brand new detached house with vistas to the Mediterranean Sea, Costa Dorada beach. A quiet village, sunny with private swimming pool and private garden. Full equipped in furniture. Preferably for renting the whole year, but vacation rental is possible as well. Families are best preferred. Quiet neighborhood and mild clima. It is possible, and we encourage it, doing gardening. Hospital, police station , tennis courts are all near. The beach is 1000 meters and it is not crowdy at all. Additionally you can do 'Tuna Tour Diving' at l'Ametlla de mar, at 50 min by car from home.

“fantastic villa with pool in great location.”

Reviewed 2 Sep 2013

We were 2 families of 9 who wanted to stay in a villa with a pool near to Barcelona and Porta Ventura theme park. Maria, the owner and her assistant, Jose were very helpful and friendly about the accommodation before we arrived and on arrival they greeted us at this new build villa which was a nice touch and filled the fridge with more than just the essentials and very generous. You probably need a car to get to the local Beech at Segur De Calafell ( we hired 2 family saloon cars with Europacar ( I would recommend them at £25 per day) from Reus airport who up graded one of the cars for just 10 euros more). There's a local Spar shop which has everything you need or bigger supermarkets further on into the town. You can buy Freixenet Cava ( it comes from this region) for just 4 euros in supermarkets ( cheaper than in the vineyard) and we visited the vineyard for the day which was fantastic and only a 40 minute drive away through beautiful countryside. We bought a 4 out of 7 day Porta Ventura theme park tickets (45 min. drive near to Reus airport and Salou) in advance of going on the internet. There is a theme and water park attached. We had 2 days in each park and if you are used to Disney theme parks you will not be disappointed, particularly with the theme park. As we bought in advance the adult ticket worked out at circa£16 per day, fantastic value. Loads of different rides for coaster lovers and great for all age groups. Sunday is definitely the best day to do the main theme park and also between 3 and 4p.m there appears to be a lull. If you want to get on the big and best rides just get there on a day when you already have your tickets ( as even though bought on internet you have to Q to get them on the first day) at about 9:30 a.m. and you will be able to go straight to a Q just inside the theme park and get on the first ride of your choice almost straight way .Dragon Khan is a fantastic twister and Shambala a classic roller coaster! Note the big rides bizarrely have staggered opening times. There are some good shows, though if you can follow the utterly bizarre plot in the western show your doing better than me! The Q's in general, in the water park for the big slides are fine if you go on them around 3-4p.m. Make sure you don't put valuables in your pockets as no matter how good your Velcro is they will come out!. Do not book the Mexican restaurant in the main theme park, the fajitas are not freshly cooked but look like packaged chicken with pickled vegetables, really bad!! though the Med. restaurant is fine. We went to Barcelona for 2 days, 45 min. drive away. If you go on the toll roads it will cost you circa £15!. Go on the D road out of Calafell which takes you through vineyard country ( we stopped off in a smaller vineyard called Oliveras ( left side of rd) and bought 12 bottles of Cava for £3 a bottle which was fantastic and the lady owner was lovely and very welcoming. No tolls on this rd. We did the Noucamp tour which was brilliant but beware there are absolutely no signs for it on the main C32 rd (toll) or D r.d. You cannot see the lights of the stadium as down a long hill in the city itself and out of site. I would definitely recommend you get a street map of Barcelona and follow signs off the main rd in called "Avinguda Diagonal".This rd goes, yes, diagonally across the city from top left to bottom right. early on the rd after a few KM take a right turn and you will eventually find it. ( if you have sat nav. then should be ok!). We also did an open bus top tour of this beautiful garden city which I would recommend though at circa £23 is quite expensive. Though we didn't go ( but wanted to) the Salvador Dali museum is supposed to be fantastic, just North of Barcelona. On the beach rd in Segur De Calafell which mainly had Spanish people on their hols there (great for us) is a bar called "Sade" which has free internet ( an absolute must with teenagers!). The people who run the bar are very friendly and a Cuban waitress ( saving up to complete her medical studies) helped us a lot with directions to Barcelona etc. They did good Tapas also. Would recommend the trip to anyone though Ryan air (cheap flights) would not allow us to print off our inward boarding passes in advance of going as you have to get them within 2 weeks of the flight date, really, really annoying as have to go to internet café/hotel to do this when your on your hols!
