Description from owner

Casa de los Robles is registered and licensed with the Tourist Board of Andalusia (Vivienda Rural) and complies with the necessary health and saftey regulations set by the Board.

Casa de los Robles sleeps 8 people, in 4 rooms – one with kingsize bed with en suite bathroom, one with double bed with toilet and wash basin, and two rooms with twin beds, sharing a shower room and toilet.

Heated water is supplied from recently fitted solar panels which provide endless hot showers during the day.

The Master Bedroom with ensuite, opens onto a sun shaded terrace, which can be shared as a main dining area, the other double bedroom opens onto its own private courtyard with water features and glorious views of Mt. Maroma. This is a great venue for sunset cocktails and late evening music.

Outside living in the summer is perfect on the covered terrace – accompanied by a barbeque or paella, and a few glasses of local red wine!

Casa de los Robles enjoys a magnificent backdrop of mountains, which are home to a wide variety of wildlife including griffin vultures and montessas. It also looks across mountains to views of the sea, and, on clear days, the Atlas mountains in Morocco.

Further details outdoors

The house is located a couple of hundred meters above the road between two delightful Andalusian white villages – Canillas de Aceituno, four kilometres to the west, and Sedella two and quarter to the east. Both villages have local bars and restaurants, as well as shops, that sell all you need. There is also a large shopping complex and hypermarkets is just forty minutes down the road, towards the coast. The surrounding campo is ideal for walking, from short walks (some directly from the house) to more lengthy spectacular ones along the foothils of Maroma. Los Robles sits in 9000 square metres of wild lavender, cistus and orchids, with spacious landscaped areas and terraces providing ample peaceful locations to rest in sun or shade. The main lower terrace has a wonderfully tempting 10 x 5 metre swimming pool. Take a drive through the Sierra Nevada mountains to Granada, one of the most beautiful cities in Spain with its gorgeous Alhambra Palace and romantic Generalife Gardens. Catch a concert in the caves of Nerja. Inside the 63 metre high Sala de Cataclismo is the venue for a music and dance festival each summer in July. Join in a fiesta with fireworks, funfair, fino sherry and authentic flamenco dancing during the peak summer season in the local villages. Visit the brand new Picasso Museum in Malaga next door to the Roman theatre and a Renaissance-style cathedral displaying rare works donated by the artists family. The new Pompidou Art Centre on the Marina at Malaga is also worth a visit.

Get a taste of all things British - Gibraltar makes a great day out with its impressive naval history, great tax-free shopping and cheeky Barbary apes up on the Rock. People watch at Puerto Banus Marina. Maybe spot a celebrity or two! Tivoli World theme park, the biggest amusement park on the coast, makes for a special day out with family and friends. Take in a round of golf at one of the many golf courses dotted around the region.

The local towns of Camares, Alhambra de Granada and Antequera are great places to visit and explore. And the recently opened Caminito del Rey must be one of the most spectacular walks in Spain.

“Awesome villa”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2019

We have just returned from a week’s stay at this absolutely amazing villa. The photos don’t do it justice!!! Incredible large pool with first class facilities including a table tennis table, boules area, golf pitch and puttt and huge tv, literally everything has been thought of and more! It’s the perfect villa to have the most relaxing stay. We were a family of four (14 and 12 y old) and we all loved it so much. The owner David is fantastic as is Rafa who greets you at the villa. His kindness and warmth is out of this world. It is a steep and windy climb to get up to the villa but my goodness it is worth it! Go, go, go! You won’t regret it and you will come away with the most incredible and happy holiday memories.

A wonderful villa in a beautiful location with 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. The pictures of the villa don’t do it justice, it is beautifully kept, clean and spacious with lots of different outside seating areas to enjoy the sun/shade and different views. Rafa was always on hand to help us out and is a lovely gentleman picking us fresh figs and almonds as well as a couple of rides on his quad bike!! I can highly recommend this villa, which is surrounded by lovely traditional whitewashed villages still unspoilt by tourism. You will need a car to get around, with the nearest villages being 5-10 minutes drive and a large supermarket/beaches around 35-40 minutes drive.

Owner's reply: Dear Shelley, Thank you very much for your kind and supporting words about your stay at the Casa, I am so pleased you enjoyed your visit and that the extras made the difference. Yes Rafa is a gem and seems to have the ability, even with limited English to make sure it all goes well for guests. The Caminito del Rey is a thrilling walk and one to remember !! There is something very special about the goat bells in the valley that make the area so rural. Hope you may visit again. Thank you David

“Wonderful house for relaxation or exploration”

Reviewed 2 Aug 2017

We stayed here in August 2016 and had a wonderful week. We enjoyed fabulous weather, and did a lot of "flaking out" by the pool. We did also manage to visit Canillas, Sedella, Salares and, further afield, Alhama - all lovely. The house is wonderful, as are the grounds, and we feel lucky that we found it. Rafa (the local agent) was very helpful and charming and gave us every assistance. We'd love to come back again some time. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Owner's reply: Dear Ann, many thanks for your positive review and am so delighted that you found the Casa suitable for your needs. It has taken several years to plant the extended garden and its now rewarding to see it bearing fruit ...literally !! The surrounding white walled villages are a delight to explore and all have their own special features which add to the charm. I am so pleased that Rafa provided you with what er assistance you need, as I think this is very important for visiting families with different needs. Will be delighted to see you again with a warm welcome at Casa de los Robles

“Wow - by far the most amazing villa I've ever stayed in”

Reviewed 8 Jul 2013

We were really looking forward to our first visit to Spain with our six year old twin boys and chose Casa De Los Robles as it looked like a great place to relax and get away from it all as a family. The flight from Southend airport to Malaga was very simple and the transfer to the villa was incredibly easy (even with two very excited six year old boys!) We hired our car from Record Go which I would really recommend - they have a desk in the airport and the queue was half the size of the Europcar one and we certainly paid less for the car. The directions to the villa were simple and easy to use and the whole journey took under an hour. The drive there was the first indication that this holiday would be rather special . Once you leave the crowds of Malaga and head for the hills the scenery really starts to unfold and we were all just stunned by the beauty of the winding mountain roads and deep ravines all around us . From the minute we passed through the gates of the villa into a great large parking area and stepped out it was clear that this place was kept to a fantastically high standard . The stunning gardens all around the villa were laden with figs , oranges and an abundance of flowers that scented the evening air perfectly - queue big smiles from the whole family... Within the villa itself we had far too much space really ! The boys each had their own beautifully furnished bedroom and bathroom , we enjoyed our stunning master bedroom with en-suite bathroom (and even a little peace and quiet!) at the other end of the villa. I have to confess the fourth bedroom was used solely for the kids to build tracks with the giant Jenga blocks form the patio. There would be plenty of room for two families to share with all the facilities at the villa. There really was every conceivable thing we needed to make our holiday as comfortable and easy as possible. Its clear that the family that own this place have thought of everything- the kitchen had a fantastic supply of any number of plates , glasses, cooking utensils etc . The only thing missing was a wine cooler but we fashioned something from a jug filled with ice cubes ! The villa was sparkling clean and the abundance of really good quality white sheets and towels made it feel more hotel than a self catering holiday . The real highlight for me was the beautiful photographs hung around the villa that gave the whole look of the place a real feeling of staying in someones ( rather lovely ) home rather than just another characterless building. Whilst the inside of the villa is lovely, the terraced gardens , pagoda and of course the stunning swimming pool made our holiday absolutely perfect . The kids spent all week in the pool and the sizeable pagoda kept that full glare of the midday sun off us when we needed it . We went from the 29th June to the 7th July and it was perfect weather . I don't know what it would be like in August though as it was pretty hot even then . Even though the pool is unheated we made sure we put the cover on each night and recored 31 degrees one day in there - as the kids said it was like swimming in a cup of tea ! We really didn't leave the villa much except quick trips to the local towns to pick up provisions. We did have a day the the water park in malaga which was pretty steeply priced ( £60 for a family of four) but was worth every penny - the kids loved it. We could see from the website when we booked it that a great deal of thought and effort had gone into making sure we would have everything we needed but we had no idea how beautiful the place would be in reality . I really can't recommend it enough . I just hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did ( not too much though as we are definitely planning to go back again next year!)

Owner's reply: Dear Cassie. Thank you so much for your kind review on Casa De Los Robles. I am delighted that you found the location ideal for your family and that it gave you all the comforts you required ... would love to welcome you back one day . Thank you David

“Perfect piece of paradise”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2012

This is an absolutely perfect villa. We stayed with 2 small children (4 and 2 years old) and they thoroughly enjoyed the pool. Before going I was slightly concerned that the pool might be a little chilly as it was unheated but it was in fact the perfect temperature. The villa is beautiful (the photo's don't show quite how beautiful it is!) and has everything you could possibly need for a lovely relaxing holiday. The perfect place to just relax and unwind with lovely views and peaceful, great nature too! The local villages are quite small but we found we stayed in the villa most of the time so wasn't a concern and it was not to far to the big supermarket in Velez Malaga. Thank you for a lovely holiday!

Owner's reply: Thank you Rebecca for taking time to put a comment on Tripadvisor, and for saying such lovely positive things...much appreciated. Carolyn
