The Paphos District

Being located within 4 kms of two Championship Golf Courses, this villa is the ideal choice for Golf Lovers. Only a 5 minute drive away is the village of Pissouri which extends from the traditional village on the hillside, down to the sheltered Bay with its clear blue sea, both areas possessing a unique character and charm. The village maintains an old world atmosphere and has outstanding restaurants and taverns to suit all tastes and budgets, coffee shops, and a mini-market. The village square is lit up at night and is a favourite spot with all.

A "Greek Night" featuring music and dancing is held every Wednesday and is attended by Cypriots and foreigners alike. The bay area has an informal collection of excellent fish tavernas and restaurants along the fringe of the sand and shingle beach. A 15 minute drive west will bring you to the town of Paphos with its heritage sites, modern shopping facilities and attractive harbour area.

This south-west corner of Cyprus has an ambience all of its own: soft breezes, old stone, elusive enchantment and an air of antiquity. This is the kingdom of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, and her presence seems to linger. Paphos itself is really two towns, each with its own character; Ktima on the cliff and Kato Paphos by the sea, two kilometres down the road. The one is unchanged over centuries and thoroughly Cypriot while the other has expanded over the last decade from a sleepy fishing village and harbour into a bustling, busy, sprawling cosmopolitan resort which is still growing.

Roman Paphos was the island's capital, and the 3rd century mosaics here are the finest in the Mediterranean. The atmosphere is funloving and friendly, with plenty of bars, pubs, discos, a few nightclubs and innumerable eating places providing anything from choice Italian cuisine to sizzling souvlaki off the spit.

The Secret Valley Golf Course is a highly prestigious golf course located in the renowned area of "Petra tou Romiou", the legendary birthplace of Aphrodite, the Goddess of love. It is set in a scenic valley surrounded by mature trees and beautiful natural rock formations. The course is consistently appearing as the preferred course amongst the island's visiting players in terms of sheer playability and enjoyment.

The spacious clubhouse with its restaurant and bar facilities is an excellent spot to relax after a good game of golf. The interior of wood and stone is a pleasant surprise, the comfortable chairs are very inviting and you don't want to get out of them easily ones you are seated. Very comfortable!

Open daily from 07.00 19.00 with its ala carte menu.
Friday and Saturday evening the kitchen will be open until 22.00
Sundays offer a Carvery lunch buffet.

There are a number of beaches just a short drive away. 5 minutes away is the beach at Aphrodite's Rock and 10 minutes away is Mandria Beach. Secret Valley Resort

Pissouri is a short drive away from the Secret Valley Golf Resort. Pissouri is a village located in Limassol's district, Cyprus (thirty kilometres westwards of Limassol's centre), between Limassol and Paphos. Pissouri's administrative area is the third biggest in Limassol District. The main settlement of Pissouri is situated about three kilometres away from the bay named Cape Aspro, and is built on the side of a green hill. The settlement has two distinct communities, Pissouri Village Area and Pissouri Bay Area.

In Pissouri there are several shops, and many tavernas, restaurants and bars serving food and drink of exceptional quality. There are also three banks' branches in Pissouri village's central square.

Pissouri covers a large area stretching from the hills rolling away into dramatic countryside to the north, to the sea in the south, and from the edge of the Western Sovereign Base area in the east to Aphrodite's Rock in the west. The village is perched on the hillside overlooking the sea, about 4 kilometres inland from the beautiful, naturally sandy beach at Pissouri Bay, which is a separate area. It is some 3 km from Cape Aspro and is roughly half way between Limassol and Paphos, at about 30 km in each direction.

The Village Square is the hub of Village life with the coffee shop at its heart. The local tavernas serve up good food and on summer evenings you will find the weekly “Cyprus night” somewhere in Pissouri, a lively and popular treat of traditional dancing, music and food. The Village boasts a magnificent "Millenium" amphitheatre, seating 800, spectacularly set high up on the edge of the Village with panoramic views towards Akrotiri and Limassol.

To the south lies our beautiful Bay, where hotels, bars, restaurants and tavernas contribute to a lively and friendly tourist location. The coast stretches west along dramatic cliffs to Aphrodite's Rock. All around us are the remains of the ancient history of Cyprus. You will be able to discover many of these fascinating sites and beautiful countryside by joining a local walking group. During recent years, great attention has been paid to the development of tourism in the area, especially at Pissouri beach.

Pissouri is perfectly located for golfers within 2 championship standard golf courses within 10 minutes drive. They are Aphrodite hills and Secret Valley. The new Nick Faldo golf course is also only 20 minutes away by car.

Pissouri is the perfect location for a relaxing holiday or to provide some fun activities such as walking, mountain biking, golf, tennis, water-sports and diving.

In addition to the wonderful 2km long Blue Flag beach in Pissouri Bay itself, there is a wonderful, almost deserted beach in the next bay, Avdimou, which is reached through an extensive nature reserve area filled with local wildlife and flora. Pissouri Village, with its quaint streets, lively restaurants and superb amphitheatre, is a 5 minute drive up the mountain-side, where you can savour the fabulous views over the countryside to Limassol or the Troodos Mountains.

In summer, there are regular Cypriot nights at several tavernas in both Pissouri Bay and Pissouri Village, while the nearby amphitheatre at Kourion regularly has events. Limassol and Paphos are each less than 30 minutes drive away, with their vast array of activities, including water parks, historic old towns and harbours, and long promenades along the sea front.

Blue flag beach
Golf
Scuba (diving school in the village)
Climbing
Walking
Tennis (at local hotel)
Water ski-ing
