Sunshine House in Seahouses is perfect for families and friends who want to enjoy stunning coastal scenery, huge beaches and the beauty of historic Northumberland with a gorgeous holiday home to relax in.
This luxurious, large house is ideal for family get-togethers, friends' reunions, celebrations, activity breaks or girly weekends; whether you want to snuggle around the fireside, dig sandcastles, enjoy the fresh air of the wonderful coast and countryside, experience the heritage of bustling Seahouses's harbour, explore historic castles or relax and have a treatment at Seahouse's Ocean Club beauty spa. Summer or winter there is something for everyone and many guests return time and time again. Not least because we are just a few minutes' walk from the beautiful beach between Seahouses and Bamburgh. And, of couse, we are only a picturesque 20 minute drive to Alnwick Gardens and Castle.
Our stylish holiday retreat comfortably sleeps 10 in five bedrooms and is equipped to a very high standard (we have been awarded a Visit Britain Five Star Award). There are very comfy John Lewis beds in all the rooms, with crisp white linen and fluffy towels. There is also a John Lewis z bed for the eleventh guest and two Mamas and Papas travel cots are available for baby guests.
The house is warm, bright, clean and has a fully-fitted contemporary kitchen with granite work tops, solid oak flooring and access to the utility/laundry room. In the light-filled kitchen/dining area we've provided a large table, along with plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses and serving dishes, so it is perfect for family meals, birthday celebrations, anniversaries or parties. We think we've thought of everything you might need from a cocktail shaker to chopsticks. With a small extra fridge in the garage there is plenty of room to chill drinks too.
The spacious layout makes it ideal for friends or family gatherings of all generations. In the 30ft living room there are huge squishy sofas, free unlimited Wi-Fi, a 40 inch TV (with free view and a DVD player) and a cosy wood burning stove (logs included). There are books, games, jigsaws, cards, DVDS, buckets and spades and toys too.
The cottage is very child and baby friendly with cots, stairgates, highchairs, as well as toys, books and games for all ages. The house is dog-friendly too. There is a private fenced and gated secure garden with a patio and lawned area.
All linen, bath towels, hand towels, tea towels, apron, dishcloths, logs and heating are included. We have lots of parking with a large garage and big drive. The enclosed garden has a John Lewis table and chairs for outdoor dining on sunny summer days. There is a Weber barbeque.
The house is in a quiet location on the edge of Seahouses with views to Bamburgh Castle, but it is only a ten-minute flat stroll along the coast path, which has lovely views to the Farne Islands, to the bustling, heritage harbour of Seahouses where you can enjoy a glass in the famous Ship Inn, buy kippers at the renowned smokery and browse the shops.

The Northumberland region
Miles of virtually deserted beaches to wander along, fabulous countryside to explore...and great pubs to relax in after the day's exertions are over! Northumberland has so much to offer.
One day you can be following in the footsteps of Roman legionnaires on Hadrian's Wall, the next you're in Alnwick Castle where Harry Potter went to Hogwarts school.
And believe it or not, Northumberland gets some of the best weather in the country. According to the Met Office the county is one of the driest in Britain and gets more winter sunshine than many other areas.
Seahouses is a busy fishing village with miles of golden beaches. It has shops and a supermarket for everyday needs, There are pubs and restaurants too. A fabulous fresh fish shop sells prawns caught just off the coast and the area's world famous kippers.
The Ship Inn is arguably the best pub in the world!
A day trip to Holy Island, the cradle of Christianity is not to be missed, along with a boat ride to the Farne Islands where up to 70,000 puffins turn up each year. Children will love seeing the seals there too. Nearby villages like Bamburgh with its fabulous Castle and Beadnell offer more fabulous beaches. There are breathtaking golf courses along the entire coast where guest players are welcome.
Stables within walking distance of Sunshine House offer riding lessons and beach rides. A comprehensive guide book full of ideas for wet and dry days is available at Sunshine House.

"Fabulous holiday home in fabulous location"
We had an amazing 9 day's holiday at Sunshine House - its a fabulous holiday home for families in a fabulous location - 2 mins walk to the beach. Housing estate was extremely quiet and peaceful this time of year. Great view of Bamburgh and the Farnes from upstairs windows. House is spacious, in particular the kitchen and dining area with huge table for family dinners. Well equipped with plenty crockery (more in garage) and big pans and roasting tins etc. Very useful utility room with extra sink and big garage to put suitases in etc. Only suggestion could perhaps be to have an extra fridge for drinks, as the kitchen fridge filled up quickly with all our food. We found the beds very comfy with good quality bed linen. Great to have wi-fi for our ipads and 3TV's in the house- no arguments! Garden is secure for our dog and well maintained. There is the odd mark on the paintwork in places (as you would expect), but nothing to detract from the overall great presentation and enjoyment of the house. Thank you - hope to come back soon.

"Great Break for The Whole Family"
Lovely spacious modern house fully equipped for 3 generations of my family, and lovely and warm on a very cold February week. Perfect position well away from the bustle of Seahouses but near enough to walk to the shops, pub or fantastic wet fish shop.
