Very Good

“our review of Juniper Cottage”

Reviewed 8 Oct 2017

We felt the location was good as it was right in the centre of Seahouses with parking ,although we did not use the garage as it was a little tight to get in. The accomodation was spacious for 2 but we felt the lounge/ dining room would be a little cramped for six. The mattress in the main bedroom needs to be replaced as we both had backaches from midweek of our stay. The kitchen was fully equiped and came with a complimentary bottle of wine which was a nice gesture.

Owner's reply: Thanks Jacquie. Hope you enjoyed your stay on the Northumberland Coast. Sorry to hear that you didn’t find the mattress in the main bedroom comfortable. We are in the process of refurbishing and all beds are to be replaced very soon. As regards parking, it is a narrow street in the old part of town but we don’t have any problems parking our 4x4 in the garage, and luckily there is also on-street parking opposite the Cottage. Not sure we’d agree about the lounge being potentially cramped for 6? Other family groups have commented on the good-sized lounge area and how it makes for a homely, cosy stay.

“Thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful family break at this comfortable and traditional cottage.”

Juniper Cottage is a traditional styled homely cottage with lots of additional extras that made our stay extra special. This included a wide range of books, dvd's toys and games for the children, picnic essentials in fact everything you might need when away from home. The cottage was very comfortably furnished and exceptionally clean and well cared for and in an ideal location close to the harbour and all amenities. We enjoyed outings to Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island and spent a lot of time soaking up the atmosphere in Seahouses which we will definitely return to. Enjoyed traditional fish and chips from Lewis's and a lovely meal at the Bamburgh Castle Inn which has fabulous views from the garden and would highly recommend a visit here. We stayed here as a family of six ; my husband and our two daughters and son-in-laws and our one year old grandson and the cottage was perfectly suited to our needs and requests for a highchair and travel cot were met. The owner was extremely helpful from initially booking the cottage to keeping in contact during our stay and I would recommend Juniper Cottage to anyone wanting a traditional cottage break in the heart of old Seahouses !

Owner's reply: So glad you enjoyed Juniper Cottage and Seahouses ... and Lewis's definitely has the best fish and chips in town! Look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
