Gable Cottage is a beautifully refurbished, 3 bedroom stone-built cottage with a range of lovely facilities and is ideal for a family or group of friends looking for somewhere special to come home to after days' out and about in this stunning area. Lovingly renovated to restore its original charm whilst providing holiday makers with an excellent standard of holiday accommodation, Gable Cottage is located on a quiet street in the heart of the historic harbour area in the seaside village of Seahouses on the Northumberland coast.

Close to the coastal path, Gable Cottage is perfectly placed for guests to enjoy the many local attractions, including the bustling harbour and golden, sandy beach, boat trips to the Farne Islands for puffins, seals and an array of amazing bird life, Seahouses Golf course which is open to visitors all year round. No trip to the area is complete without a walk to Bamburgh Castle and its stunning beach, plus Bamburgh village boasts a great range of independent shops and locally renowned places to eat and drink. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne is just a short drive, as well as the 'must see' Alnwick Gardens and Alnwick Castle (Downton Abbey and Hogwarts fame). Close by, you can access the fabulous, local seaside villages of Beadnell with its stunning bay for watersports and picnics in the sand dunes, Low Newton for The Ship Inn, Craster village for its pretty harbour, great seafood and coastal path to Dunstanburgh Castle and all the other local attractions are all within easy driving distance throughout Northumberland.

Gable Cottage is a spacious, two storey, end cottage with room for 6 guests in 3 bedrooms; a master, King size bedroom, a second bedroom - now with a small, double bed and a bunk bedded room. The cottage oozes original charm and space and now offers modern comforts, such as a cosy wood burning stove in the spacious lounge, free guest Wi-Fi, BT TV with Sport package and Netflix and the cottage benefits from having a useful utility room with a washing machine and additional storage.

One well behaved dog is welcome downstairs only (at an additional cost, please enquire) at Gable Cottage and all bed linen, towels, heating and hot water are included.

Location description from owner

The England region

Explore mile upon mile of gloriously uncrowded golden sandy beaches and stunning countryside set amongst two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the rugged Northumberland National Park. Discover more castles than anywhere else in England, the birthplace of English Christianity on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, the historic World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Wall, stunning Alnwick Garden picturesque towns and villages and much more. There are plenty of golf courses and lots of activities and some great walking.

Seahouses

The charming village of Embleton dates back to pre-medieval times, and its fine Norman church, the Church of the Holy Trinity, was built in the 12th century. In recent years, a Heritage Trails Project has been set up to explore the history of the parish, and its well-designed walks range from a stroll round the village to a six mile route along the coast and inland. Golfers can enjoy playing on a number of different courses in the area, and the area is famous for its wide, sandy bays, dunes and beaches. Embleton has a local village shop which is open seven days a week (Spar) and a post office plus a petrol station. There is a good selection of places to eat and drink in the village of Embleton as well as the many surrounding villages nearby. There is an 18 hole links golf course, a long sandy beach with dunes to explore and the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle to the South. To the North you'll find Low Newton where you can enjoy a spot of lunch at the Ship Inn followed by a stroll along the beach or you could try sampling one of their very own locally produced ales.
