Location description from owner

The Sicily region

Sicily is great island full of History and archaeological sites for the many invasions. The weather is for most of the year temperate. From April to late October temperature range from 20 c° to 33 c°.Best period to come and visit is from April to November .Place of interest to visit are Zingaro Park , Segesta with thermal pool, San Vito lo Capo, Erice, Trapani, Saline di Trapani with the salt museum, Marsala and Mothia Island, Egadi Islands, Marsala for famous wine, Ustica island, Palermo, Monreale, Cefalù, Selinunte and Temple's valley of Agrigento. All these places are 30-50 kms from the villetta.

Scopello

Scopello is perhaps the more evocative and colourful place of the entire gulf of Castellammare. It is a small village risen at the end of the 18th century around the "baglio", on a previous arab country house. In the low-lying wonderful cove limited by the stacks and protected by old towers, there is the "tonnara" (thunny-fishing structure), The name of Scopello probably derives from the Greek "scopelos" (rock). At night is now a place to sit down in a cafe after dinner and enjoy the summer breeze!

Close is the 1.620 hectares of "Riserva dello Lo Zingaro" extend in one of the most evocative landscapes of Sicily and amazing beaches. It is the first natural reserve instituted in Sicily (6 May 1981), it is more than seven kilometers long and spreads along the coast. It is situated in one of the few still integral places in all the Island.
Segesta with the Greek ruins (temple and amphitheater) is only 20 km away.

Palermo and Trapani are beautiful cities to visit as well as the island like Favignana and Levanzo (ferry boat leaving from Trapani port).

There are a lot of fish restaurants where you can taste fresh fish with no high-prices.You can also buy a fresh fish directly from the boats in the port when they come back in early mornings about 7 a.m. There are also a lot of good pizzerias. In Castellammare you can also taste the local dish Kous-Kous with fish that is a speciality of the Trapani area.

“Perfect accomodation for a family with kids!”

Reviewed 11 Sep 2013

The house is very well equipped and clean. It has been fantastic to find a washing machine, extremely usefull with kids! It also has a nice garden where we had the opportunity to arrange very relaxing dinners. The owner is very kind and always available for any requests.

“Beautiful, silent, romantic place, great potential for travelling”

I was there with 3 persons. Great contact with the owners. There is everything one could possibly want during the summer holidays: huge garden, very nice place for bbq, several beaches nearby, a lot of fantastic places to see in this area of Sicily. Totally worth the recommendation!

“Lovely house and great location”

Reviewed 31 Jan 2012

We spent 10 days in Antonietta’s Villetta. The big plus is location. We went for sightseeing (Erice, Segesta, Palermo etcc..) and see all different beaches from the Riserva Zingaro to Scopello and to the very close Guidaloca just a walk away. The house is lovely and spotless with a well kept fenced-garden around it. Antonietta’s english is good enough and she made a lot of effort to make our stay perfect. The house is private enough and away from crowed and noisy areas. Well designed and furnished with all utilities work reliably. Our vacation was great also helped by the owner Antonietta who is cordial and helpful, and on hand during the day if something happens (like we needed 2 beach towels and stores were closed!). We liked the terrace where we had often dinner and the quiet around us. Though the other villetta next to us was occupied by a couple we almost did not notice that at all. Location is truly a plus! Close to the lovely village of Scopello and the restaurants there are just a mile away and where we went a few times. Very close by and on the way to scopello is one of the best and well stocked supermarket. It is really a plus and with next to it a great ortofrutta store selling local veggies, fruit, local wine and olive oil. The butcher and deli counter sells excellent local specialities. The only advice I would have if you chose to spend your holiday in the area is to have a car since to see all beaches and especially if you have kids and to get to some (Riserva dello Zingaro which is splendid and a must see!) can be a long walk.

Very nice Villa not in a tourist area with great beaches and things of interest not to far away.
