Description from owner

Description

If you want comfortable, well-equipped accommodation with country chocolate-box charm, then look no further than this detached thatched cottage, which dates back to the 1840s, whose nooks and crannies are stuffed with unusual, quirky objects; will you spot the fiddle in the kitchen or the globe in one of the bedrooms? The living area, which has a slate floor, is open plan and welcoming, and includes a woodburner and piano, as well as a kitchen and dining area. There is a wet room on the ground floor, and another wet room in the outside utility area. Downstairs are two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom, while upstairs is a further double bedroom which is accessed by and open to the cosy mezzanine sitting area, a perfect spot for losing yourself in a good book. The lawned garden enjoys views towards Lough Derg and the River Shannon.

Scarriff

Scarrif is a large village in County Clare, set near the shores of Scarrif Bay, part of Lough Derg. The village is renowned for its angling, while the East Clare Golf Course is close by. More great golf can be found at Lahinch, within driving distance, which also offers a lovely long sandy beach. A slightly longer drive but still within easy reach are the impressive Cliffs of Moher, offering coastal walks with amazing ocean views and varied wildlife.
