“Weekend getaway”

Lovely cottage, the children loved the house and space in garden. Close to attractions we went to. It was nice and peaceful in location, clean/tidy. Would definitely book again.

Owner's reply: Great that you liked the house. You will be welcome to come back sometime. I agree that the tranquility of the location is a big plus.

“Great for family get together, group of 11”

We had all we needed to be together!. The house was very comfortable. Ok, people have commented that it was dated but I think it has character. The showers weren't great but there's baths and plenty of hot water. Beds comfortable and plenty of bedding. Kitchen is very well equipped. Set in lovely surroundings and lots of bird song enjoyed by us all! Well situated for touring as a base with good pubs nearby for home cooked food.

“perfect base”

This house was ideal for travelling with teenage children as it had space for all of us to spread out. Yes some of it was dated but it was clean and a reasonable price which reflected this. The large garden was a lovely space and it was in a quiet position off the main roads. We loved the aga and the heating kept us toasty warm.

Owner's reply: Very pleased that this party enjoyed their stay, and appreciated thet The Croft provides space, comfort, and a great location at a reasonable price.

“A very happy Christmas for three generations!”

There were nine of us including two children. The house was big, warm and comfortable. Lots of seating, plenty pots, pans, etc. Got used to the Aga but thankful for the electric oven as well. Not pristine but that suited us - we felt at home! Mr Dawson responded to our requests prior to our arrival. That was much appreciated. The area is not new to us, so we enjoyed a return visit - nice walks, sands, and lots for the kids to experience.

Owner's reply: Nice that the house did not disappoint, and the party enjoyed Xmas at The Croft.

“Great house”

Reviewed 8 Feb 2014

We had a great stay with all bedrooms occupied excluding the attic room. The building was great, a little tired but that was obvious before we went, the lounge provided enough space and seating for all of had all the usual appliances with extra fridge/freezer in conservatory . For a cheap out of season we found it fit the bill very well and would happily return. Did'nt try any of the local pubs village shop had a good range. 10-15 mins drive to Scarborough 20 mins to Whitby great area for cycling into the forests or along the coast railway.

Owner's reply: It's good that this party enjoyed their stay at The Croft. As they say, the area is great for getting out and about. I hope they will come again sometime.

“Massive house”
