“If you love "quirky", You will love this House”

Reviewed 13 May 2018

We stayed here for two months (March and April 2018) and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we had, unfortunately some of the worse weather for years in February, but were nice and warm once the log burner was alight, Lena and Richard were easily contactable, even arranged some extra logs for the fire. The wifi was really good, managed to stream live tv programs, but that said when there was heavy rain it did cause drop outs (its a radio link not hard wired). As others have said in feedback a car with relatively high ground clearance would be good, even better a 4x4, but we managed quite well with our Qashqai. The roads / tracks are not really for the nervous driver, so please think about what you are happy driving over, before booking, that said we enjoyed the adventure. There are neighbours but hardly ever saw them, plenty of privacy, views out towards the sea and inland towards Competa are really good, a lot of wild life, lots of bird song, and no sounds from traffic, also dark star filled skies at night.

“Absolutely Fabulous”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2012

This was just what we were looking for. A superb mountain location but close enough to the sea, a well equipped finca, fantastic swimming pool and fabulous hosts. The journey up to the accommodation is an adventure. Upon arriving the views are incredible. The finca is a wonderful place to stay and rest, however the pool is so tempting as is the choice of charcoal or gas BBQ. We were able to pick limes, fresh figs and were even given red and green grapes by the Spanish locals who were harvesting just below the finca. In August the weather is hot but we became accustomed to it very quickly and the finca remained comfortable with the fans provided and of course the pool to assist. We did venture down the track and think that the caves are well worth a visit in Nerja, as well as the donkey sanctuary. As far as food shopping goes, we found that the Mercadona in El Morche the best and most Spanish - fabulous Langoustines and selection of Spanish wines. WE enjoyed the marina at Calista too. The hosts Lena and Rich are such fun and very helpful. This is a place that as a family of two children and two adults we shall return to for more!
