“Idyllic Family Farmhouse - The Best We Have Stayed In”

Reviewed 4 Jan 2017

We spent two weeks at Limort in July 2016 having flown into Bordeaux. The house is located in a small sleepy rural village with two mid-sized towns (with Super-U stores) within 10 minutes in either direction. The house sits within a large site made up of a number of charming farm buildings, beautifully restored. The setting is idyllic. The house is very family friendly, with a well equipped kitchen and it was exceptionally clean and well presented throughout. The walls throughout are stone and the bedroom ceilings have the most amazing rustic timber beams that you will ever see. A small patio well equipped with outdoor furniture and bbq sits between the house and the fenced pool. An open sided barn serves the pool with table tennis, pool table and pool slide. Other barns on the property house pool toys, outdoor games and a full array of bikes for all sizes / ages. Kids will find plenty to do here. Outside of the house there are numerous country roads and dirt tracks which we found perfect for evening walks and for running in laps of various lengths. Further afield there is plenty to do on the region. We enjoyed trips to Cognac, Angouleme and made several visits to Niort which we particularly enjoyed. We have stayed in 4 French holiday homes in the last 5 years and this was by far the best in terms of setting and facilities. We are already planning a return visit this summer - the only place we have ever returned to. Finally, the advance information given by the host, Anne-Marie, couldn't have been more detailed and accurate. We found it immensely helpful as was the on site agent Eric who made us feel at home and very welcome from the day we arrived until the day we left. All in all we could not recommend this property highly enough.

Owner's reply: Alan, belated thank you for the compliments - and we aim to keep that standard with local agent Eric and others ensuring everything is in perfect order. Michael G

“A very relaxing holiday”

Reviewed 30 Sep 2013

As a family we had a very enjoyable week in Limort. It was a very relaxing holiday. The Kitchen was very well equipped, although we ate outside all the time. The children in particular enjoyed the use of the large swimming pool with the games area alongside. The bikes, which were provide, also allowed rides around the local village. If you are looking for a quiet holiday it is an ideal location.

“Everybody enjoyed the holiday”

Reviewed 29 Jun 2012

The plot was large enough that the kids could play without disturbing everyone. Bikes were provided, that meant the kids could go off cycling - something they really enjoyed and did every day. The pool was 'fresh' due to the time of the year and not being heated, but was very large and didn't stop everyone going in each day. There was also table tennis, darts and basketball available in an outside barn. The house itself was full of character and well furnished. No issues there, and the inclusion of the wi-fi kept the kids (and father!) happy. Lovely peaceful location allowed cycling or walks around the local area, with a supermarket 5mins drive away to get supplies. We booked this holiday as a last minute break, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anne-Marie was very helpful with directions and advice, and the local assistance, Eric, was helpful and friendly. Plus his English was excellent - a bonus as my French is terrible!

“Home from home”

Reviewed 19 Sep 2011

This is the second time we stayed in this house and would not hesitate to book for a third time. We are grandparents, who booked a family holiday for themselves joined by their married children and grandchildren. When we drove thru the gate of the house we felt we came home. It is big enough for us all, is more than well equipped; has a great barn for those hot or rainy days and has a great pool. We all feel the photos do not do it justice. We have yet to find one item that was not available. the grandchildren love it. There are loads of lovely villages and markets to explore and enough exciting parks to visit to keep anyone entertained. There is excellent local support just in case anything goes wrong. We can not recommend it more highly.

“Fantastic family oriented holiday home set in wonderful surroundings”

great spacious house. Fabulous garden and swimming pool. Plenty of activities to do within the property. Set in a lovely part of France that you can explore (if you dare leave the house!)
