“Great location, nice apartment!”

Reviewed 10 Jul 2013

My husband and I just spent four nights here with our three children (ages 9, 7, and 5). It's a lovely apartment in a wonderful location! Each morning my husband walked down to the local bakery (100 yards down the street) to get some fresh bread and pastries. There's a Tesco just a few more buildings down, an arcade for the kids, and the beach is great for rock-hunting and finding seashells! We spent a day over in Stackpole, hiking along the coast and exploring, a day at Barfundle Bay (great beach!), and a day on St. David's peninsula--all great places to enjoy gorgeous coastlines and beaches! We took an evening boatride over to Skomer Island to see all the ocean birds coming in to rest/roost, and we ate dinner at an amazing restaurant in Tenby called the Plantagenet two nights in a row. Yes, it's just that good! (And the building, itself, is a treat--an old Tudor home with a 12th centurty Flemish chimney.) We were blessed with amazing weather our entire trip, so Suntrap really was flooded with sunlight each day! On that note, the apartment does have blinds on the windows, but it was so light so early that I woke up each morning at about 4:30. The seabirds can also get pretty loud at about that hour, so if you have trouble sleeping when it's light in the room and sort of loud outside, this might not be the best spot for you to stay in the summer. Also, the apartment is on the first floor, so there's a set of stairs to climb right as you enter the front door. No problem for us, but if you have any issue with stairs, this might not be the best set-up. We weren't able to get wi-fi with the dongle at the house, but Sue's installing broadband wi-fi, so that shouldn't be an issue. And you can get wi-fi from the information point down at the beach, if necessary. The double bed in the master bedroom is wonderfully comfortable! But I would only put kids in the bunk beds as the mattresses are pretty thin and I don't think adults would sleep comfortably in them. Just FYI--the fridge in the kitchen is half-size and doesn't have a freezer space, so plan accordingly with the food you buy/bring. Sue is great! She even called us while she was on holiday to try and work out the wi-fi issues we were having. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here! We would come back!
