“The perfect getaway”

Reviewed 26 Mar 2013

My partner and I have stayed at Mussell Reach a few times now and it seems selfish to keep this little gem to ourselves any longer…..so here is my review. From the moment you walk through the door, it is clear that the owners have put a great deal of thought into creating a comfortable ‘home from home’ holiday retreat. Situated on the first floor in a small block of flats, Mussell Reach is a cosy and extremely well appointed apartment with splendid views of the town, sea and harbour from the lounge/diner (or balcony on a warm sunny day). A short walk into town is all it takes to stock up on those essential supplies – meat from the butcher, bread from the baker, groceries from two small supermarkets and for that essential holiday treat, fish and chips from the splendid Mermaid and/or Marina. If you can tear yourself away from the comfort of the apartment, the attractive walled town of Tenby with its 21/2 miles of sandy beaches is only a couple of miles away by car or bus or a little further on foot via the coastal path. If you want to venture further, then Mussell Reach provides the perfect base from which to explore the glorious Pembrokeshire coastline – from the surfing beaches of Newgale and Whitesands to the secluded coves, ancient castles and amazing wildlife of the only coastal National Park in the UK - there is something for everyone. The secret is out…………………………

“The view alone makes it a five”

Reviewed 18 Mar 2013

Having stayed in Saundersfoot in 2011 in the owners other property which we enjoyed, we thought we would like to stay in Mussel Reach. We were not disappointed. It is tucked away at the back of a hotel and you have your own parking space. When you walk into the apartment your breath is taken away by the stunning views over the harbour. The apartment is very well equipped and the bedrooms comfortable. You get a good workout walking into the town.....The balcony is great for sitting out and having breakfast or a drink in the evening enjoying the views. Saundersfoot is a lovely little town not a huge variety of eating places but it's not far from Tenby and other places. There are great walks along the coast and there are some fabulous castles to visit. There is now a small Tesco at the bottom of the hill which was useful. We have booked to go again this September we enjoyed it so much. The owners are very easy to deal with and eager to please.
