The Pays de la Loire region

The Loire valley was first made famous by the kings and nobility of France. Their presence can be seen in the magnificent Chateeax Abbeys and Churches. This World Heritage site has more than three hundred châteaux including Châteaux d'Amboise, Château de Chambord, Château d’Saumur, Château de Villandry and the breathtaking Chateau Chenonceau. Even Leonardo Da Vinci was drawn to their splendor. He lived at Chateau Clos Luce, now a museum to his genius. This area is also known as the Garden of France after the many beautiful Orchards and Vineyards. You can enjoy a wine tour of this great region, either on a personal tour with one of our associated guides or independently using a pdf of all the vineyards and Caves of the Loire valley available, from our website.La Grande Maison is situated in the wine appellations of Anjou and Thoursais and are within easy reach of the Saumur, Chinon, Saint-Nicholas de Bourgueil, Touraine, or the famous sparkeling Saumr Brut or Loire Crement. If you are here in the Autumn why not take part in the Vendange. The Grape harvest is the busiest time of year for the Wine producers and they are always looking for a spare pair of hands. Here is a link to a video of last years harvest at Terre Blanches.
