Location description from owner

The Dordogne region

Sarlat-la-Canéda

Dordogne region

Described by Rick Steves as “an under the radar region of France” with traditional villages where you can sample the local foods of the “terroir” that’s to say of the local region. This is duck and foie gras central so eat them to your hearts content in the many restaurants in Sarlat, La Roque Gageac and Baynac. When you need a change, let us know and we can recommend an alternative!

Getting around

Whilst a car is not needed for a short stay in Sarlat, for ease of transport to the caves, chateaux, gardens villages and other wonderful sights of the region, a car is very much recommended as public transport is poor. Taxis are available and we can recommend. The train station of Sarlat is 1 kilometre from here and with notice we will happily pick up and drop off there.

Interaction with guest

We will be here to greet you personally and answer any questions you may have about your stay with us and advise on things to do and see in the area. You may already have all your arrangements in hand but if you need help we are available during your stay.
