Catro Faros is an impressive luxury villa with avant-garde lines designed by a famous local architect. 'Catro Faros' translates as 'Four Lighthouses,' and the home is so named because from its terraces one can see four of the most famous lighthouses in Galicia: the lighthouses on Ons Island, on the Cíes Islands, and on Capes Home and Udra. With a spacious 4,300 square feet living space (400 square meters), Catro Faros is located in a one-of-a-kind enclave in the coastal town of Sanxenxo. Its panoramic ocean views will astonish all those who wish to enjoy them. The house rests on a well-manicured plot with an area of over 10,000 square feet (950 square meters). The private and heated pool is more than 500 square feet (5x10m). Beside the pool, guests will find stylish lawn furniture. Enjoy the sun on nearly 2,000 square feet (180 square meters) of elegant Ipe terraces. The house has 5 double rooms, each with impressive ocean views.
The house has modern inside and outside electric blinds, motorized windows, LED 55 inchs television with 3D in the living room (2d to 3d conversion), satellite and WIFI (Wireless Internet Access), 44 inchs television in the main bedrooms and a bathroom with 27 inchs television and a marvellous hydromassage bathtub with the following functions: cromotherapy and aromatherapy. You will enjoy a relaxing bath watching the Atlantic Islands National Park from a spacious window. Moreover, the house has radiant floor heating/air conditioning in each room, a warm wooden platform in the whole house, high quality furniture and electrical appliances, bathrooms with spacious showers which have hydromassage and piped music and a fifty square metres dining room.
One of the most important qualities of the house is its brightness, due to its spacious windows and its glass walls.
The house is situated in a green and peaceful area.

The Galicia region
Galicia’s coastline is fractured by its famous "rias": beautiful estuaries which penetrate the coast like gentle fjords, creating beaches that join up with those along the Atlantic shores. Pretty coves contrast with vertiginous cliffs, looking out over the wide sea.
The southern rias baixas, which start from the border with Portugal, are softer in line and the coastal waters are calmer compared with the northern rias altas, where the ocean crashes against the dark granite of the infamous Costa da Morte (Coast of Death), the doom of many a seafarer. For the Spain of sun and paella, look to Andalucia. These folk are made of sterner stuff.
The hinterland of the massively rugged coastline of over 1,400 km and 770 beaches is hilly and forested, run though with broad or rushing rivers. Its native green wildness is relieved by eucalyptus woods, meadows and vineyards whose wines complement to perfection the daily haul of seafood that Galician fishermen bring in to ports and fishing villages.
Unlike most other regions of Spain, there is no trace of an earlier Moorish presence. Instead, human habitation is marked by ancient petroglyphs carved into weather-beaten rocks, Celtic settlements, Roman bridges and medieval monasteries, convents and churches. Old stone crucifixes are a common feature of the landscape in a land where Christian tradition goes hand in hand with a folklore based on oaths and witches. Local fiestas can bear a remarkable resemblance to magic ceremonies.
Some people find in Galicia a resemblance to Ireland, or Scotland. The climate may be kinder, but it’s not sunny Andalucia and rain is not infrequent. What you get in return is a dramatic landscape and the satisfaction and interest of an old culture with depth and cohesion. A Celtic influence shows through in a liking for festivals, often based on food and drink, with music played on flute, drum and gaita, Galician bagpipes.
Beaches like Montalvo, Bascuas, Silgar, Major, Paxariñas, Canelas, Caneliñas, Baltar and A Lanzada, in addition to numerous small coves, can all be found in a radius of under two miles (3 km). The house is situated less than ten minutes on foot from the famous Montalvo beach and less than fifteen minutes on foot from the well-known Bascuas nude beach.
The nearest village is Portonovo and it´s 10 minutes walking. Sanxenxo village is 3 minutes driving. Pontevedra city 20 minutes driving. Santiago of Compostela is 45 minutes driving.
There are 2 restaurants next to the villa and restaurants where to have some ‘paella’, Spanish omelettes, fresh seafood, fresh fish, nice steaks, beef, pork, lamb... for lunch or dinner at cheap prices; Also, the baker delivers tasty bread, Galician sweets and empanadas at the gate of the villa every day. The villa is 800 metres from Portonovo, an important fishing and tourist resort with plenty of local cosy restaurants to taste Galician gastronomy, supermarkets, banks and shops. There is also a colourful market twice a week. You can also take different ferries to enjoy short ferry crossing and fiestas on board to the National Park of Atlantic Islands (Ons, Sálvora, Cortegada, and the well known Cíes Islands holding one of the best beaches in the world). There you can enjoy landscape, fauna, flora and impressive views and sunsets. If you like practising sports, there are a lot of sports, sailing, water skiing, horse riding, kayak,... or play golf in two importants . Important musical events, gastronomic fiestas take place throughout the year in different villages. It is recommended to hire a car and make short excursions to visit the diferents important villas like Combarro, O Grove, Cambados, Pontevedra, Santiago, etc. Less than 20 minutes get to Pontevedra located in its own bay with its original old town and attractive plazas. For a longer trip (45 minutes) visit Santiago de Compostela the historical city, renowned for its stunning cathedral of St. James, its centrepiece and it is surrounded by cobbled streets, cafes, restaurants, "tapas" bars and shops. As Santiago de Compostela has been named the Cultural Capital of Europe, hosting the 'Holy Year'.It is a hive of cultural activities, ranging from concerts, theatre, musical events, art exhibitions, open air cinema, etc,not to mention the great atmosphere and street life.

"A Wonderful Time"
Family vacation in Portonovo :) (teenagers and kids) We met a So Kind couple: the owners :) and spent one week in a magical and clean house, in a quite place close by the beach and center town with 5 beautiful bedrooms, a peaceful swimming pool, different spaces and terraces for the 7 of us. We really enjoyed our stay in this house, everything was perfect for a week of discoveries, rest, gastronomy and cultural visits. Lots of paradise islands around! :) thank you so much you two for your kindness, your good energy and your professionalism. :) A big thank to the cleaning team too, it was perfect. If you want to spend a unforgettable vacation time with family or friends, Patricia and her husband will be there to welcome you with generosity and kindness in their wonderful house. We really enjoyed it. <3

"Great accommodation in a great location"
Service from owner Patricia was really helpful and they made us all feel very welcome to Galicia. Property is fantastic and great for a group like ours (9 person) to have a very comfortable house. Located not far from Portonovo and some fantastic beaches close by.
