Villa Serena is a well established villa, one of the highly rated Jade villas which is now privately managed and equipped and furnished to a very high standard. Our pricing policy makes it very affordable for couples and small groups (see rates details shown under Availability). The villa is in an excellent location towards the southern end of Sanur, about 20 minutes from the airport via the new toll road. Distance to the nearest beach is around 450 metres, and there are upwards of 20 restaurants and bars within 50 to 400 metres. An excellent supermarket is only 60 metres away. The villa is one of a group of four, each privately owned, set back 50 metres from the main street. Security guards man the main gate 24/7, and each villa is protected by a high wall to guarantee total privacy.

Accommodation consists of two bedrooms in the main villa and a third bedroom located in a separate cottage on the other side of the pool. Bedroom 1 has a cathedral ceiling with ceiling fan, kingsize bed with luxury hotel grade mattress topper, air conditioning, fitted wardrobe in a dressing area, luxurious bathroom with twin basins in a marble bench top, bathtub, spacious shower and an outdoor shower in a small private garden. Bedroom 2 is similar to bedroom 1 but with a 40" TV and a queensize bed with luxury hotel grade mattress topper; if two people require separate beds we can add a single bed. The third bedroom has a queensize bed, ceiling fan, air-conditioning and an en-suite shower room.The living area is open plan Balinese style with an attractive high ceiling with fan and an exceptionally well equipped kitchen, a 50 inch LCD satellite TV and a DVD player, and a water dispenser, chilled and hot. Fibre optic cable recently arrived in Sanur, so we now have a much improved internet speed. Outside there is a 9 metre infinity pool with 6 cushioned sun loungers and a very attractive garden with flowering shrubs and trees which include coconut, banana, papaya., frangipani and hibiscus. Note that most private pools like ours in Bali are unfenced, which in our view makes them unsafe for small children and consequently we cannot take bookings for children aged less than 6.

The villa is staffed by our renowned housekeeper / manager Kadek who attends for seven hours a day, but who can be released when she has finished her main tasks. These include daily cleaning, bed making, washing and ironing usually two or three times a week, washing up and helping with food preparation. She will also do food shopping and has an excellent reputation for her cooking , including breakfasts and occasional lunches ; the guests select and pay for the ingredients. She is now offering guests the opportunity to have lessons in Balinese cooking, specialising in her favourite recipes, at a very modest cost. For further details please contact the owner. Kadek speaks good English, is unobtrusive and discreet, and is a source of helpful advice regarding your stay in Bali. She will get your money changed at very good rates, or take you to a reliable money changer. If you wish to take outings to the various attractions, including the Art markets at Ubud, the Elephant camp, water park, zoo or a tour through the paddy fields, we know a good local driver who speaks English, is very knowledgeable and charges reasonable rates.

The local beach has a number of beachside cafes as well as several big international hotels, if you prefer international dining, and two watersports centres. Power cuts are a frequent source of annoyance in Bali, but not at Villa Serena where we are in a small minority of private villas having a fully automatic standby generator, gas powered in order to minimise noise.

On arrival in Bali guests are met at the airport and escorted to the villa, where they will be welcomed by the housekeeper and shown around the villa and given the welcome pack of food and drinks.

Our pricing policy is to make the rates affordable for only one couple, with small increases for extra numbers. This includes children occupying their own bedrooms, so for on-line booking IT IS IMPORTANT TO CORRECTLY STATE THE NUMBER OF GUESTS, INCLUDING CHILDREN. If the numbers are found to be incorrect, because on-line bookings are automatic, you may find it rather inconvenient to rectify the booking.
