Santa Flavia is a little town with lots of character and an intersting history.
On the Northern coast of Sicily, it sits nearby beautiful beaches on one side and mountains with spectacular views on the other.
Santa Flavia was founded as a walled city almost 2,500 years ago by the Carthaginians. Many streets and buildings, and the foundation walls of the ancient city, remain intact. Today Santa Flavia is calm but never dull. It is ideal for a relaxing beach holiday, but is also well-connected by Trenitalia, so it offers the perfect base if you want to explore towns and attractions further afield.

Location description from owner

The Sicily region

Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean, is the link between Europe and Africa, only 3 kilometres away from the tip of the Italian boot. According to an old legend it rests on three strong columns, sunk deep into the sea. Its Greek, Arab and Roman-European roots are still evident.
Sicily offers the visitor so much. Beside the landscape full of contrasts there are many cultural and historical remains. Just off the coast we have many smaller islands. Moving inland from the coast we reach green hills and valleys and then the volcano Etna. 'The mountain of the mountains', as we Sicilians call it, offering an ever-changing panorama to travellers and nature lovers. The many cultural monuments are witnesses to an eventful history. The Siculi, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Normans and Spaniards all made their mark. In Sicily you can see Greek temples, Roman amphitheaters, castles, cathedrals and palaces

On the northern coast of Sicily, it sits beside beautiful beaches on one side and mountains with spectacular views on the other.
Santa Flavia was established as a walled city almost 2,500 years ago by the Carthaginians of North Africa. Many streets and buildings, and the foundation walls of the ancient city, remain intact.
Modern Santa Flavia is calm but never dull. It is ideal for a relaxing beach holiday, but is also well-connected by Trenitalia, so it offers the perfect base if you want to explore towns and attractions further afield.
