The Marche region
Sant Angelo in Pontano is a bustling village set in the foothills of the Sibilini Mountains. An area of mainly small farms it is the ideal place to unwind. The pace of life here is slow; after a couple of days guests learn to take pleasure in the little things; a perfect cappucino, a bowl of home made pasta, a glass of prosecco as the sun goes down. The soundtrack is the distant church chime, the sheep bells and the swallows cries as the swoop at sunset. At night the only sounds are teh crickets and the nightingales.
If you fancy a change of pace the busy seaside resorts such as Porto San Giorgio are a short 40 minute drive away. Neaby towns have weekly markets. Further retail therapy is to be found in the Outlets for brands such as Todds and Prada (Le Marche is the shoe making capital of Europe).
Further afield Assisi and Rimini make wonderful destinations for a day trip.

"Lovely!!!!!! Will be back!"
My wife and two children (aged 10 and 12) had a fantastic time at this house. Located at the end of a dusty lane you find yourself in perfect peace with the most amazing views across the valley to the local village and then in the distance the Mountains. Great just to sit and watch. The house is comfortable and well equipped. The pool is great. It is a really decent size, again with those views. The pool is close to the house so there is no problem with the kids. Lazing around and just 'being' was the highlight of our trip. The area that the house is located is lovely. Had never been to Le Marche before and really loved it. Probably more beautiful than Tuscany and Umbria but with less traffic and hassle. It was a real find. We all loved the local village of Sant Angelo in Pontano. It is small but has everything you want - cafes, bank, fruit and veg, except perhaps a big supermarket (but there is one in the next village which is not far. Best day trip was to Ascoli Piceno. It is about an hour. You can either take a twisty country road through the countryside, or the motorway. Both take about the same time. But well worth a visit. Amazing cafe in main square. All in all highly recommended.

"Delightful house, great area, what a find."
We had a great week here, the house is comfortable and well equipped, fab views and very peaceful location but also close to the nearest village which has everything we needed shop wise and a couple of good restaurants - the Torre was our fave. Amazing antipasti! Nice bar in Sant Angelo too where we could check emails over coffee and/or aperitifs,, Our first time in Marche - what a lovely part of Italia , very keen to come back and explore more - it was hard to get the kids out of the pool this time so we didn't get to see all the sights we hoped to. Highly recommend both house and area, we will return.

"Lovely, rustic house in a beautiful area."
We had a very enjoyable stay at Casa Cannavino. A beautiful house and a lovely pool. Lots of great restaurants nearby. Beautiful views. Lovely to relax in the evening to the sounds of crickets, sheep bells and owls. The only down side was a lack of a level area for the kids to play outside.
So glad to hear you enjojued Casa Cannavino...we love it too!!
