As the name suggests, Sant'Agata lies on a ridge between the Gulf of

sides. Villa Il Bassotto has a lovely aspect, facing towards the Gulf of Salerno, with magical views over rooftops to the sea.

The villa is detached, with two floors and covered parking, and has a
wonderful character due to the age of the building. Recently renovated
to the highest standards, the accommodation comprises of an upper level
with a sun terrace; and a lower level, partially hewn from the local
rock with authentic arched ceilings. From the lower level you have
access to a bright patio area, filled with pots of plants and flowers
typical of the locality.

When you step outside your villa, you will find yourself in the
charming centre of Sant'Agata, where you will discover great
restaurants, gelaterias, fresh pasta shops, fruit and vegetable stores,
mini-markets, bakeries, butchers and fishmongers, coffee bars and pubs.
In comparison to Sorrento, Capri or Positano, prices are very
reasonable.

Public transport to the highlights of the region is very convenient,
so a car is not essential. However, if you choose to bring a vehicle,
the Villa has access to a private covered parking space in a garage just
a few metres away.

You enter the villa on the upper level, through a heavy studded
wooden door, into a living room with comfortable sofas and a fireplace.
There is a flat screen television and internet Wifi access.

You will be immediately struck by the care and attention given to
decorating this home, with well-chosen ceramics, glassware and artwork
providing a welcoming air.

Double doors lead from the living room onto the terrace with table
and chairs – the most idyllic place to relax with a bite to eat or a
glass of wine, whilst enjoying views of the blue waters below.

The kitchen is also on the upper floor. Furnished in a traditional
style, with wooden doors and patterned tiles, it offers all the
conveniences you need, including a gas hob and oven, fridge freezer,
washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster and coffee maker.

The two bedrooms are also on the upper floor, one double with an en
suite bathroom, and the second with twin single beds. Both rooms are
decorated in keeping with the property, with comfortable beds and plenty
of storage space. The en suite bathroom offers everything you will
need, with a shower, toilet, wash basin, bidet and hairdryer.

Returning to the living room, a beautiful staircase with wrought-iron
railing leads down to the lower level. Here there is a cosy dining
room, with a table for eight, plus an additional living area, with a
double sofa bed and a charming rocking chair. The second bathroom is on
this level and is well-equipped with a shower, toilet, wash basin, bidet
and hairdryer. From the dining table, it is a few short steps outside
to the patio, a peaceful place to relax and soak up the sunshine on a
sun lounger.

Villa Il Bassotto is the ideal base if you intend to explore the
Sorrentine Peninsula. If you enjoy walking, there are many trails along
the coast and inland, ranging from gentle strolls to more challenging
hikes. The coast of Amalfi is a short drive away, or why not visit
Sorrento or the Island of Capri?
Choose Villa Il Bassotto for a genuine experience of staying in a historical Italian home, in style and genuine comfort.

Please note, a final cleaning charge of € 70 is payable at the time of booking.
