This property covers the whole of the ground floor of The Marstalls at Sandsend.

This property covers the whole of the ground floor of The Marstalls at Sandsend.

The accommodation comprises: A private entrance porch. Tiled hall leading to a delightful sitting room with a large L-shaped sofa (housing the sofa bed - the sofa bed is more suited to children or a single adult) and a Flat screen TV with a Freesat package and DVD Video. Stunning views from all the bay windows overlooking the sea, the beck, the valley and Mulgrave woods. French doors leading onto the front terrace. The fire is an open log fire in a grate (Logs provided). A lovely spacious fully equipped kitchen with a large Britannia range cooker, dishwasher, washing machine / dryer etc. The dining area in the kitchen is in the bay window, seating 6/8 people. The master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom has a super kingsize bed or twin beds. The 2nd bedroom has a kingsize bed or twin beds and a contemporary wet room. There is also a sofa bed in the living room to accomodate 2 children, one adult or two very small adults!! There is a Separate house loo. There is a lovely South facing covered outside eating area furnished with 'Rattan' round table and tub chairs. A large Charcoal BBQ for your sole use.

To ease your car luggage, we can supply windbreaks, rugs, beach towels, picnic baskets, buckets and spades.

This is an ideal romantic bolt hole for a restful family, friends, golfing or walking holiday, which, can accommodate 4 people comfortably and up to 6 people using the sofa bed.. Complimentary Parking. This property is not suitable for people with limited mobility.

Pebble and Sands apartments can be taken by 2 groups making them suitable for up to 8 people.

The Yorkshire region

Sandsend is 3 miles north of Whitby at the far end of the beach on the Cleveland Way. Whitby is famous for The Abbey, Dracula and Bram Stoker, also Charles Dickens and Captain Cook. There are lots of restaurants and wine bars.

Sandsend is an idyllic village where everyone dreams of living! The Valley is lovely with chickens, goats, pheasants and deer. The walk round the valley and past the little church is stunning. As is the walk through Mulgrave Woods to the other side of the village. Surfers come from miles around to ride the waves. 2 minute stroll to the lovely beach along the valley lane.


Woodlands Café/bar - a stylish, innovative café bar serving fantastic food and a wide range of very different dishes, prepared by chef/patron Alex Perkins (our son!) using fresh, locally sourced produce with a distinctly retro feel. Amazing homemade cakes and pastries. It is a short stroll along the seafront and along east row.

Wits End – Award winning café just at the end of the bottom lane with a sheltered walled garden.

Beach Hotel – serves a good pint, very grumpy landlord (we call him Rigsby!)! Tell him you are staying here and he may look after you!

Sandsend stores – At the heart of Sandsend and established for over 100 years, Sandsend Stores supply locally sourced produce and speciality foods, fine wines and ales made both locally and around the world, also newspapers and lovely coffee to drink in or take away. A good range of picnic food for the beach, also plastic glasses, plates, knives and forks etc. Buckets and spades. Very friendly staff and of course the lovely Fraser!

The Tides Cafe / Surf Shop – Surfing lessons and hire. Sells locally made Trillo's ice creams and lovely coffee. Fab place to chill and watch the world go by. Belongs to Fraser. Buckets and Spades and beach gear.

The Healing Touch - A holistic therapy shop with lovely soaps and gifts etc.

Wild Hart – Lovely gift shop next to The Woodlands Café bar

Estbek House - Award-winning restaurant with good food and and extensive wine list – quite pricy!

The Hart Inn – Lovely traditional village pub (with real locals!) serving good food and hand pulled beers. A South facing garden in Summer and a welcoming fire in the grate on chilly days. Friendly locals.

Turnstone Art Gallery - Overlooking the fine sandy bay of Sandsend, the Turnstone Gallery aims to bring you the best of art and craft work from the region. At the Turnstone you will always find a broad range of contemporary work - original paintings, etchings, ceramics, sculpture, photographs and enamels.

Sandside Café – Lovely café overlooking the beach, delicious homemade cakes and locally sourced pies and pastries, fresh crab sandwiches/salads. Far end of the village opposite the Turnstone Gallery. Summer or winter you are sure to receive a warm welcome as you sit and take in unrivalled views of the North Yorkshire Coast.

“Lovely place in beautiful surroundings”

We all liked the flat a lot, it was ideal for two couples with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Kitchen very well equipped, all very clean and decorated with much love and care. Nice places to sit inside as well as outside. Sandsend is a great location, quiet little village by the sea with some cafes and within walking distance to Whitby. Only problem: At the end of the week a couple moved into the upstairs apartment. They got up at six in the morning and then it became noisy and difficult for us to sleep. The windows in the bedrooms could do with some darker curtains to keep the light out (in summer). Though the white curtains do look nice and fresh, they are not very functional.
