Description from owner

Description

Rosie's Place is a spacious and airy split level apartment within walking distance of the beach and High Street with 2 private off road car spaces.

When it's not let out Rosie's Place is our holiday home and so we have furnished it and equipped it to the highest standards.

Imagine enjoying a freshly brewed Nespresso coffee at breakfast looking over Sandown Bay in the morning. Or perhaps strolling out for breakfast at one of the beach side cafes. Spend the day at the beach, walk the coastal path or hop on a train at the nearby station or take one of the local buses and go exploring.

We love to cook and so the kitchen is extremely well equipped if you wish to self cater. Alternatively you can walk 10 minutes to a number of good restaurants or pick up some fish and chips (or other takeaway food) to eat straight out of the bag. Then relax in the cosy lounge and watch something you have recorded on the PVR, or choose something from our vast array of DVDs

If you have children there are games and toys for them, plus each bedroom has its own TV and DVD player. And the wifi is free. We also provide a cot, high chair and stair gate for very little ones.

All bed linen and towels are provided. And if you want to keep those holiday clothes fresh and sand free there is a washer/dryer in the kitchen.

The bathroom has a bath and a separate walk in shower for ease of access, with a separate cloakroom.

The private garden at the front of the property (for sole use by Rosie's Place guests) faces south and there is a picnic bench and gas BBQ for balmy evenings. There are also 2 off road parking spaces.

Central heating and electric are included in the price. Well behaved pets are welcome for a small extra charge.

We can help you arrange a beach hut on Sandown beach for your holiday if you wish and will do our best to provide any other service you need or answer any questions you may have.

Location description from owner

The England region

The Isle of Wight has so much to offer. The property is within easy reach of several beautiful beaches at Sandown, Yaverland and Shanklin. It is also within minutes of the coastal path and Brading Down both of which are fabulous for walkers and cyclists. Osborne House, Queen Victoria's residence, is only 25 minutes away and is a personal favourite of ours. There are also a number of National Trust properties to visit including the fabulous Motistone Gardens. For history lovers there is Brading Roman Villa, Carisbrooke Castle, the renowned dinosaur museum and Needles Old Battery.

For children the opportunities are endless with Robin Hill Country Park, the IoW steam railway, Alum Bay (all those different coloured sands) and that old childhood favourite, Blackgang Chine.

For animal lovers (which we are) there is the Isle of Wight zoo helping to conserve tigers and other big cats, Monkey Haven which is a primate rescue centre and the SeaView Wildlife Encounter for bird lovers, to name but three.

Culturally the Island has many excellent restaurants as well as traditional seaside resort cuisine. It also has a number of art galleries and the Open Studio event during July. Plus there are a numerous fabulous craft shops.

Sandown

Sandown has so much more to offer than sunshine and a fabulous beach. It has a great pier with a fun fair, bowling alley, sea fishing and crazy golf. Talking of golf there is a pitch and putt and 18 hole golf course within 20 minutes walk of the property.

Also nearby you can learn to wind surf, sail, kayak or try coasteering. Or visit the famous Isle of Wight zoo to see a variety of big cats and other animals.

If you like walking you can join the coastal path or simply stroll along to Shanklin or Yaverland where you can reward yourself with lunch, a coffee and cake or an ice cream.

Sandown High Street is 10 minutes walk and has a Sainsburys Local, Co-op and Boots plus numerous gift shops. Sandown railway station is only 10 minutes walk which means that if you arrive in Ryde on the passenger ferry or hovercraft there is no need to bring a car. Or we can help you arrange car or bicycle hire.

Finally there are several pubs and restaurants within walking distance should you choose to eat out.
