Description

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE LISTING

PLEASE NOTE: The yacht is available for accommodation only and not for any kind of chartered sailing.

If you are looking for a different type of holiday accommodation and perhaps a bit off the beaten track, then Brego is just the thing for you. She is a lovely luxury sailing yacht situated in the marina in San Sebastian, the main town on the Island of La Gomera, Canary Islands.

The island is much quieter, more laid back, less touristy (more Spanish) and with a slower pace of life than its, sometimes more rowdy neighbours, yet is within an hour by ferry from southern Tenerife.

The yacht has 3 double cabins which comfortably accommodate 6 adults, as well as a fully equipped galley/kitchen, heads (or shower room) with wash hand basin, shower and toilet, roomy main saloon with ample seating and a dining table.

There is also a spacious and comfortable cockpit on deck for eating al fresco, enjoying watching the sun going

There is also a spacious and comfortable cockpit on deck for eating al fresco, enjoying watching the sun going down or just watching the world go by! A Bimini or sun shade is included.

Shower and toilet facilities are also availabe within the marina.

There is a flat screen television (no local channels) which has a built-in dvd player and can also be connected by usb to an external hard drive. Bring your own movies and tunes!

Marina La Gomera is very close (only a couple of minutes walk) to the centre of town with a variety of bars/restaurants and historic buildings. It is also only a two minute walk to each of the three local beaches and the swimming pool and tennis courts.

La Gomera itself is one of the smaller Canary Islands. It has a unique identity and is very well worth exploring. It is very easy to sit with a coffee in a local cafe and watch the world go by! If walking and hiking are your thing, then there are miles of trails to be explored, picturesque little towns and "wow" moments round every corner. Not the least of which is the Garajonay National Park, which has been a Unesco World Heritage Site since 1986.

Hair dryer provided. Bed linen included. Towels included. Car hire available locally. Bicycle hire available locally.

Please note that children aged 5 years or under are not permitted.

Location description from owner

The Canary Islands region

The island of La Gomera is much quieter, more laid back, less touristy (more Spanish) and with a slower pace of life than its sometimes more rowdy neighbours, yet it is within an hour by ferry from southern Tenerife.

La Gomera itself is one of the smaller Canary Islands. It has a unique identity and is very well worth exploring. It is very easy to sit with a coffee in a local cafe and watch the world go by!

If you love walking and hiking, then there are miles of trails to be explored, picturesque little towns and "wow" moments round every corner. Not the least of which is the Garajonay National Park, which has been a Unesco World Heritage Site since 1986. The volcanic structure of the island means that there are magnificent rock formations to see and we would recommend a visit to the glass Mirador at Abrante which looks down hundreds of feet to the pretty town of Agulo below.

Postcard perfect little villages are round every corner and you will not be tripping over thousands of other tourists.

There are regular fiestas all over the island and the local people are very welcoming in letting guests to the island join the party.

How many times have you heard that Canarians have an open, happy character? It's no surprise given that they live in a climate with an average year round temperature of 22ºC with no extreme cold or excessive summer heat. It's enough to give anyone a sunny disposition.

There's scientific proof that climate has an effect on our state of mind: Feeling the sunshine on our skin, breathing in fresh air, walking barefoot on the sand or gazing at a sky full of stars are moments that fill us with energy and refresh us from inside.

If not, ask the inhabitants of the Canary Islands.

San Sebastián de la Gomera

San Sebastian is the main town on the Island and has direct ferry links from the islands of Tenerife and La Palma. The ferry journey takes less than an hour from Los Cristianos, Tenerife.

The yacht is moored in Marina La Gomera in San Sebastian and is very convenient for the ferries.

The Marina is also only a few minutes walk to the main square with its bars, restaurants and shops and as the town is not large it is only a 5 minute walk to the bus station.

In the town you can find the Casa Colon, Christopher Columbas' house, the beautiful local churches, the Torre del Conde in the town park and 3 local beaches only yards from the yacht.
