The pretty town of San Pedro del Pinatar is located on the Mar Menor, the natural lagoon created by the La Manga strip, on the Mediterranean Costa Calida, at the northern border of Murcia with Alicante, The town is a fishing port, as well as a magnate for tourism. San Pedro del Pinatar is a small Spanish town within the province of Murcia, southeastern corner of Murcia, Spain. This region enjoys 300 days of sunshine, averaging 6 hours during the winter, and 11-12 during the summer months. The municipality is situated between the Mediterranean Sea coast and the Mar Menor ("Little Sea"), a coastal saltwater lagoon which is the largest in Europe.

Every Monday there is a farmers market on your doorstep to buy local produce. There are also two large supermarkets within a 10 minute walk where your you can stock up on all that you will need for your stay. There are a couple of local fish markets 5 minutes away.

As the area is situated between Mar Menor and the Mediterranean Sea, there are plenty of beaches to choose from. The two nearest beaches to the apartment are Lo pagan and Torre beach where you can chill out whilst the local DJ at the Pirate bar spins his tunes. The following are also available to visit

In the Mar Menor:

In the Mediterranean Sea:

El Mojón

La Torre Derribada Playa

Las Salinas

Punta de Algas

La Barraca Quemada

San Pedro del Pinatar offers visitors 14 kilometers of glorious beaches, with both Mediterranean and Mar Menor beaches to choose from.

In the Mar Menor, Villananitos, La Puntica and La Mota are tranquil, sandy beaches, with shallow, calm waters, a safe bathing option for families as the beaches slope slowly and gently into the Mar Menor, the largest inland saltwater lake in Europe, warm at its sandy fringes.

This is a haven for those seeking seaside family bathing, and is also a hotspot for water sports enthusiasts, with superb sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and kitesurfing facilities, as well as opportunities to enjoy a wide range of alternative sports and leisure activities.

On the Mediterranean side, the beaches of La Llana, composing Playa de las Salinas, Barraca Quemada and Punta de Algas are wide and open, backed by sandy dunes, with long rolling waves, a paradise for those seeking a long walk on the shores of a sandy beach, with the smell of the sea and sea wind cooling hot summer bodies.

Playa de La Torre Derribada and Playa El Mojón are also attractive open natural coastal beaches, with vast amounts of open space for those who prefer the fresher breezes of the Med, and more space to sunbathe in peace.

Another extremely important location within San Pedro del Pinatar is the zone known as Las Charcas, which includes the popular Baños de Lodo, or mud baths. These mineral rich muds offer natural, healthy treatments, which are beneficial to those suffering from a large number of complaints, including rheumatism, arthritis, broken bones and skin complaints and is also a free beauty treatment , with beneficial properties for healthy skin.
