The region is known for its unspoilt natural Beaches of which there is many to choose.
this is one of the driest parts of Spain which makes it a great place to visit any time of year.
If you want a day or more away from the pool or beach there are many places of interest you can easily reach from San Juan De Los Terreros
You can Visit Murcia City with its great tapas bars, shopping amoung beautiful cobbled streets and zoo /water park.
Cartagena a working militery port.
Mojacar pueblo a mountain village with stunning views and pretty streets of white painted houses.
Aguilas a typical working coastal town with castle, pretty plaza and working harbour. Here they have great fiestas especially at Carnaval time and Easter.
San Juan de los Terreros
San Juan de los Terreros is a small coastal village on the Costa Almeria. Terreros is a typical Spanish resort, quiet for most of the year, So its perfect for those who like peace and quiet ,It becomes more busy in the summer months (July & August).
The beautiful, gently shelving, sandy beach which stretches right around the bay of Terreros, making it safe for children and swimming. There are a handful of good beach bars (chiringuitos) along the promenade (Paseo) serving lunch, diner, tapas and drinks, here you'll find both locals and holiday-makers passing the day together. Along the coast in either direction there are a host of other bays and beaches to explore.
From the rocky headland and its 16th century castle, the views of the beautiful bay and surrounding mountains are spectacular.
In the main street there are a number of bars, cafes and restaurants to choose from, two well stocked supermarkets catering for most nationalities. All year there is a Sunday market selling clothes, Shoes , Fruit and Vegetables. There is also a night market in the main square.(Summers only).
11 km from San Juan De Los Terreros is the town of Aguilas, Famous for its Mardi Gras Carnival (one of the biggest in Spain). Here you have many good value cafes, bars , excellent restaurants and two great discotecs. You can spend an evening in the beautiful plaza enjoying a drink or an ice cream. Its here you can board the party boat and try various water sports from the new Mariner.
30 minutes by car is Lorca, Again this has a castle offering great views of the city and mountains. Lorca is worth a visit in the week leading up to Easter, There are many processions to see both in the day and night.

"Nice well stocked house"
We stayed here this summer with my young 14 month old son and my 15 year old daughter, at first we thought that the pool was going to be an issue and that we would need to watch my son like a hawk, however, the stones around the pool acted as an excellent deterrent to any unexpected diving antics. The gardeners were a little annoying, they came in one afternoon and they did not stop until sundown, engines and strimmers and ride on mowers, I swear, the garden behind us was mowed at LEAST 6 times, I'm pretty sure that grass does not grow that quickly even in Spain, so they were obviously abusing being on the clock. All in all we had a great time and having stayed in about 6 or 7 other similar properties in San Juan, would say that this was the best one so far, not too far from the beach and shops, a perfect base camp for our little family.
