In the summer, it is no different. The scope for beautiful stunning walks is endless, with the breathtaking views of the magnificent mountains surrounding you.
A traditional french village, Samoëns has a real history, originating from the Middle-Ages by renowned builders and stone masons. The village boasts a year-round life through many activities and events that have made the village emblematic in Haute-Savoie. Many people live in the village throughout the year, giving the village a true french atmosphere at all times.
The village centre is a 200m walk. The traffic free lanes and square are lined by shops, pâtisseries, ski and summer adventure shops, and interior design shops offering Alpine delights. There are plenty of restaurants to cater for all appetites, many specialising in the local delights of fondu, tartiflette but others offer pizza, steak etc.
The Grand Massif Express ski left is a 15min walk or a ski bus passes on a timetable. Lockers are situated at the top of the lift, making trips to and from the slopes far easier with good storage for all your skis, helmets, boots etc.
A 10 min walk away is "La Base de Loisirs" which is a fantastic outdoor leisure complex, with outdoor swimming, tennis, rope climbing, paintball, archery, lake, fishing, horse riding, restaurant and a beautiful walk along the whitewater rafting river.
