“Simply Perfect Chalet in the hamlet of Vercland (Samoans)”

Reviewed 10 Mar 2015

Chalet Ruby completely over delivered vs. our expectations. Great Space, Great Kitchen, Great Lounge, Great Light (sun all day), Great Fire, Great DVDs (hundreds!!), Hot showers and a Garden for kids to build snowmen. The chalet is located a 5min walk to Vercland ski lift or a 5minute drive to Samoens Telecabin. In addition the Chalet was very "welcoming" in to regards: 1> The trust of the owners. The property is full of items which in many other chalets may be "locked away". It feels like the owners have genuinely left the chalet as they live in it (all Kitchen utilities, glass wear, furniture, etc) 2> Gilles (who manages property for owner). A great guy, always contactable and extremely helpful. He is a credit to the owner and how clients should be treated 3> Honesty Bar. The chalet was stacked full of various "alcohol" which was very nice. We enjoyed sampling a number of spirits, but in return ensured that we contributed back to the stockpile when we departed!

“Excellent and charming chalet”

We had a very nice stay over the new year. Large kitchen and living room which is great for large groups. Gilles was very helpful with everything during the stay.

“Excellent chalet - perfectly managed and maintained!”

Reviewed 22 Jan 2014

This is a great chalet in close proximity to the ski gondola. The place is spacious, very clean, has a well equipped kitchen. Gilles - the manager - is very helpful and responsive. Communication (even though we communicated from Hong Kong only via e-mail) was easy, prompt and clear with no room for misunderstandings. I think this is place is ideal for families or larger groups. If you are a large group of friends you have to know that there is one very very large bed room, one large bed room and two very small bed rooms, which isn't quite ideal if your are 4 couples sharing the chalet and splitting the bill. However, the living / dining & kitchen area is very spacious leaves space for everyone. Again, excellent chalet and management I can highly recommend!!!

“Spacious chalet, right near a ski lift.”

Reviewed 12 Jan 2014

Gilles was very helpful and professional, before, during and after our stay. The property was far more spacious than we thought and had all the facilities we needed. The chalet is conveniently, a 1 minute drive to a ski lift. You could walk, but it is uphill and difficult with ski boots on. The town of Samoens has pretty much everything you need and is about 2 km from the chalet. Samoens is a really nice town and well worth a wander round. Book restaurants in advance, as we found it difficult to just turn up. You will need a vehicle to get to town and back. We did have a good value meal in the Hotel near the ski lift (boule de neige), which is within easy walking distance. Overall this was a good value self catering chalet that easily accommodates 2 families wishing to holiday together.

“Beautiful Chalet, we'd go back in a heartbeat”

Reviewed 12 Jan 2014

We rented Chalet Ruby for Christmas week (we are a couple with 4 children aged 8 and under). LOVED the chalet, especially the spacious modern open plan kitchen / dining area with huge windows and we spent a lot of time in there eating and playing games... the sitting room is also very nice. It has four bedrooms, one double and three twins. The double benefits from spacious ensuite bathroom and UK TV. Another huge bathroom for the kids. Service provided was friendly and professional - the beds were made for us, the snow was cleared for us ... we were very happy with that aspect too. The location is great, a very short drive to town and the 'new' telecabin, and you can walk easily from the chalet to the 'old' telecabin. All in all a holiday to remember, and hopefully to repeat!
