It has two bedrooms with super king double beds, a comfortable bunk room, a bathroom, an additional shower room, an open-beamed sitting room with log fire and a lovely hand-made kitchen. It has its own private driveway and a large enclosed garden. French windows lead on to the patio where you can sit and watch the sun go down across the valley. As well as Pippin Cottage, we also offer 5-star Gold Award accommodation in the house, in two double bedrooms (one en suite, the other with private bathroom). Both are inviting with deliciously comfortable beds, pretty cushions/throws and extra treats. The atmosphere is relaxed and informally friendly to ensure guests feel at home and enjoy their stay.
Step back in time - life goes slowly here. Hens in the orchard, delicious breakfasts in the walled garden with apple juice from our own Cornish apple trees, sausages and bacon from our own pigs - all produced here using organic methods. Other produce is sourced locally/organically wherever possible. A straw-yellow drawing room with blazing log fire, two grand pianos and books galore, an inspiration for musicians artists or anyone wanting to combine fun with peace and tranquillity.
We also have an idyllic hideaway cottage for two, Polly's Bower available.
And to top it all, a fabulous outdoor solar-heated swimming pool open from May to September what more could you want?
The Cornwall region
Located in the far west of Great Britain on a peninsula tumbling into the vast Atlantic ocean, almost completely surrounded by the sea, a magnificent coastline wraps around Cornwall for almost 300 miles. Cornwall is also the location of mainland Great Britain's most southerly promontory, The Lizard, and one of the UK’s most westerly points, Land's End, while a few miles off shore and even further west is an archipelago of tiny islands that make up the Isles of Scilly.
ou'll find all the things Cornwall is famous for; spectacular beaches; surf spots and surf schools; gorgeous gardens; cliff top walks; boat trips; and of course iconic attractions such as St Michael's Mount, the Minack Theatre, Land's End, King Arthur's castle and the Eden Project. But Cornwall will keep surprising you with the vast offer of new, different and fun things to do, even if you're a regular visitor, or a local.
Saltash is located on the River Tamar which runs through the Tamar Valley in the southeast of Cornwall, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and a World Heritage Site. The town, which has a population of over 15,000, is known as the "gateway to Cornwall" as it connects Cornwall to Devon by rail, road and river. Saltash is situated on the forested shore of the Tamar estuary facing Plymouth. The Royal Albert Bridge, a suspension bridge known for its height, was engineered by Isambard Brunel, and was officially opened in 1859 by HRH Prince Albert.
Lantallack lies adjacent to an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the River Lyhner and is close to many magnificent Cornish beaches, with opportunities for swimming, sailing and windsurfing. The fishing villages of Cawsand and Kingsand and the glorious 5 mile long beach Whitsand Bay are nearby whilst a short trip in the car will get you to the National Trust properties of Cotehele, Lanhydrock and Saltram. Both Bodmin Moor, Dartmoor and Eden are only 30 minutes away and if you fancy a game of golf, we are just 10 minutes from the International Golf Course of St. Mellion. From May to October our fabulous outdoor heated swimming pool is open to residents.
And foodies wont' be disappointed – we have the best pub in Cornwall ‘The Rod and Line’ a short hop down the road (or skip across the fields, if you prefer), serving the freshest crab and the most yumptious Abbot’s Ale in the cosiest bar, ever. Or drive along the coast to Whitsand Bay and dine at The View our local seafood restaurant, after first climbing up to the old chapel on Rame Head to watch the sun go down! And if that’s not enough, try a visit to the Camel Valley vineyard (producer of award-winning UK wines) near Wadebridge and grab the ferry from Rock to Padstow, home to Stein's collection of restaurants.
