“PEACEFUL NIRVANA”

Reviewed 23 Apr 2016

Excellent accommodation with all the facilities laid on, we took a lot of our own food but, brought most of it back home. Visit Kernow Mill for Farmers Market (thurs, fri & sat) for fresh vegetables, beautiful eggs and pasties, fresh meat and other delicacies. Copley Arms at Hessendine does food to die for, Crooked Inn at Temerton is very good, all with good ales! Good shopping at Saltash, Waitrose and Lidl, off the A38 r'about, or Saltash town for PO, Fish & Chips. Excellent butcher on A38 at Tidewater. It does have it all, must have transport though. Wasn't impressed with Notter Inn though. Perhaps it was a bad night.

Fantastic, we're so glad you enjoyed your holiday. It looks like you ventured out and about and made the most of what's on offer locally. We hope to welcome you to Crylla Valley in the future, there's plenty more to explore!

“Very clean and tidy, well organised and well run”

Reviewed 22 Sep 2014

Complex has different sized properties, our 3 bed apartment had 2 showers (useful with 3 teenagers in tow) and was very well equipped - also the site is very clean and tidy. Our need for midweek changeover days were easily dealt with. The location was great, very easy to get to lots of interesting places in Cornwall & South/West Devon. Local pub served excellent grub when we didn't want to cook for ourselves, and the country club membership (swimming pool, gym, good value bar food) was a bonus. Only thing that that could have been been better was the wifi access which was OK upstairs but patchy downstairs.

“Lovely clean and spacious holiday cottage - ideal for families with young children”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2014

We stayed in a 1 bed valley view cottage which was lovely and very clean. Nice fixtures and fittings. All kitchen equipment that you could need and bbq. Very nice staff who would be happy to help with anything. Not too busy but enough to keep entertained after a day out e.g. tennis, swing ball, toddler slides etc.. Accommodation is close to a busy main road and you can hear the traffic when you are outside but to be honest it is good value for money and great location to explore east cornwall. Picked blackberries on our walk around the site. Really liked the fact that they offered a 'chair bed' for our 4 year old to sleep in our room with us instead of on the sofa bed and stair gates were put in for us. Chocolates, biscuits and tea, coffee and milk left in cottage for us.

“The best Cottage I have ever stayed!!”

Reviewed 22 Jul 2014

we stayed at the Crylla Valley for our family trip in Cornwall for 5 night. The Cottage was nice and clean with everything we need as a extended family with two kids. There were bottle of milk, tea bags and biscuits ready to serve. This was very touching and thoughtful. The staff are very friendly and professional, shame we didint have enough time to get to know them. Thank you all. over all we had an wonderful time there, we may go back again next year~~

“Immaculate and perfect”

Reviewed 19 Jul 2014

These quaint little cottages are adorable. Built in a row you do not overlook anyone else. There is parking right outside. The cottage had a lovely open living space downstairs with a spare toilet and upstairs we had two lovely furnished bedrooms and a bathroom. Expecting completely empty self catering premises we were pleasantly surprised to find so many little extra's right down to a welcome card with chocolates, a carton of milk in the fridge, a tray of coffee, tea bags and sugar with biscuits, soap and toilet paper in the bathrooms and fresh towels laid out on the bed to name a few. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery and cooking utensils etc and there were plenty of other household items in the cottage. We stayed only two nights and both evenings we ate at the nearby pub which is also highly recommended. The gardens are beautiful and plenty. The area was quiet and the staff polite. If you run out of anything there is a small shop in the reception area with a good array of household items etc. We would definitely recommend this accomodation which was VERY clean, immaculate and perfect. We hope to come and stay again for a longer period.

“Would recommend a stay here to anyone”

We have stayed here 3 times in the last 3years,on each occasion we have had a fantastic time, the properties are furnished to a high standard and always clean. The staff cannot do enough to help your stay with them be exactly what you want from a holiday. The location is close to Saltash and an ideal base to explore both Cornwall and Devon, perfectly positioned near the main road through Cornwall and yet very peaceful with the river flowing alongside the site.We would recommend Crylla to anyone as a perfect holiday destination and great value for money.

Stayed for 5 nights and was very impressed. The cottage was very clean and spacious particularly the bedrooms. Also plenty of wardrobes. Very well equipped, even a iron and board. Tranquil location and competitive prices. Would recommend these cottages.

“Great base for exploring the South Cornwall coast with kids and dog”

Reviewed 23 May 2014

The cottage was a modern house with all amenities - dishwasher, washer/dryer, TV etc. built into the side of a hill, so all the windows look out toward the front of the property. The standard of cleanliness was generally good although there were areas that were a little dusty. We travelled with 9 and 5 year old boys and an active mongrel dog and they all loved it here. Beds were firm - husband said ours was uncomfortable, but compared to the many holiday places we've stayed in Cornwall over the years, I'd say they really weren't bad - just firm! Kids agreed with me :) Location: The cottage was located in a cul-de-sac of holiday cottages, mostly modern and purpose built, so the road outside was very quiet - no through traffic and with plenty of lawns to play on, we could sit on the patio at the front of the cottage in relative privacy and the kids could play outside safely. There are bluebell woods and a wildflower meadow belonging to the complex - in April the meadow is mostly just a field at the top of the hill, but I imagine in summer it would be very pretty. The boys explored this and enjoyed playing in the woods area and we could relax knowing that they were not far away and safe and they felt like they had some independence from us, being allowed to explore these areas. There is a children's play area which is pretty basic, but has swings etc. and the boys enjoyed that too. There are no stunning sea views. You will not be staying in an historic fisherman's cottage. You cannot walk to the beach. However, if you are a family with children looking for a base relatively close to the seaside, in secluded but safe surroundings, then I would recommend it and I would definitely consider staying here again. It is situated below the main road, so there is a little traffic noise, but mostly it's birdsong and quiet and you can still get where you want to quite quickly by car. Amenities: - Local supermarket was Waitrose - 10 mins away. - There is a postbox onsite. - There's also a local pub onsite - we didn't visit the pub on this occasion and a small animal "petting zoo" which appeared to be closed while we were there, so I can't comment on either of these. - Decent towels provided - You can hire gas bottles on site for BBQ's - a gas BBQ is provided with the property. - Local beaches at Whitsand Bay were dog-friendly, great for the kids, sandy with rocks and rockpools aplenty, and in April, there were only a few families there, despite the beautiful weather! They are not suitable if you have any mobility difficulties or don't like walking up and down steep paths - def. not pushchair friendly, but for kids in our age bracket, they were ideal. - Passes for the local country club - we used these once for the swimming pool, which was fine. However the weather was so great we preferred to go to the beach! These might be useful if you have a rainy holiday. - WIFI - is provided, but our cottage was at the far end of the site and reception was very patchy, so we stopped using it. My phone has 4G and had internet via that, but husband's 3G reception wasn't great and he actually had to watch TV in the evenings instead of playing on his phone! The holiday was given to us as a gift and the booker opted for the optional pack of children's games and this was great - a box full of tennis bats, balls, kite and other bits and pieces when we arrived, that the kids were allowed to keep - they were very happy and managed to use everything in the box before the week was up, but I am not sure what the cost of this was. Other considerations: One improvement that could be made - the bedrooms upstairs in our cottage had spotlights - no bedside lamps, which means there is no soft light for reading at bedtime - not great when you are trying to get children off to sleep - but the sea air seemed to do the trick anyway! Stairgates - the gate at the bottom of the stairs was great for stopping the dog going upstairs to investigate the bedrooms! The upstairs stairgate could not be used due to the position of the heater on the landing - someone has installed the heater so close to the gate that the gate cannot be closed! Not a problem for us, but if you had small children i would ask about this - it may not be the same in every cottage.

“Another fantastic holiday!”

Reviewed 5 May 2014

This makes for a most wonderful family holiday. We also took my son's dog, which worked really well. There are beautiful walks all around the cottage. The stay benefits a pass to the China Fleet. This is great for all the family. The youngest members enjoyed the pool and water slide, whilst the teenagers and older family members relaxed in the newly re furbished Spa. This will be our 4th visit to Crylla Valley and we will be returning next year! The staff are so friendly and thought of everything. Knowing I was celebrating my 50th birthday and my daughters 18th, they left us lovely birthday cards and even a bottle of prosecco!
