Villa Romantica is a location recommended for those people that are looking for privacy and tranquility.
The villa, very stylish home with antique wooden forniture and paintings, is situated in the middle of a 1000m garden with antique typical sardinian and fruits tree, a pool (11 x 5) with a part for children and a part for dive.
The villa has 3 air conditioning units, one in each bedroom, included in the rental price.
The Villa is surely safe, in particular for children.

“A property for profit”
While we enjoyed our stay at Villa Romantica that was mostly due to the fact that we were two couples of old friends so we know how to make any place enjoyable and not necessarily because of the host or because of the property. I entitled my review "A property for profit" because profit is the main focus of Federica and her family when renting out the property. I will list below some of the things that need improving: #1. Beds > they are very bad and in desperate need of replacing of both the frames and mattresses. My husband had a backache after the stay and so did our friends. To add insult to injury, the sprinkler system starts at 6:30 in the morning thus adding to the whole bad sleep experience we had as we had to wake up and close the windows in order not to hear the noise. Why not use the air condition unit you might ask ? Well because it's an insult to pay 2.700€/week and be charged 60€/unit/room on top of that for using the air conditioning all of this in 2018... #2. The rooms > they need some repainting as they have visible scratch marks and dents. This is a must, from my point of view, when you ask 2.700€/week for the property. #3. The pool > the owners should arrange for someone to come by every 2 or 3 days to clean it from all the olives, olive leaves and spiders that fall into it. During our stay my husband was the one doing that. Moreover, in the last 2 days of our stay the filtration system suddenly stopped. #4. Owner's attitude towards hospitality is in dire need of improvement. Just to give you an idea, we were left with: 2 garbage bags, 2 dishwasher machine detergent pods, one half bottle of soap and shampoo (of the cheapest brands) for the whole stay of 7 days for 4 people. This is not about us having to spend the money for buying all those things needed for the household is just a matter of attitude towards the guests of you house in general and in particular when you spend 2.700€/week. #5. Satellite TV > although this was not a big deal for us as we only wanted to watch the World Football Cup Final on TV and nothing else for others it might be a big issue as the reception is lousy and the content is lacking any decent channels thus leading us to watching the final on one of the laptops we brought which we connected to the internet using our personal hot-spot from one of our smartphones as the internet connection was a joke. All in all the property looks good (not as good as in the photos so props to the photographer they used) and you can make your stay enjoyable if you keep it to the outdoors of the property. The asking price is way to much for the conditions we were presented with so I would like to kindly ask the owner to take the time and money and invest one month's rent, which is about 10.800€, and really make the property as advertised. Ah and please do invest in some proper beds and mattresses. Wishing all the best to Federica and her family, a never-returning guest
Owner's reply: Dear never-returing guests, First of all I would like to tell you that NO GUEST has ever left 5 smelly and heavy trash bags that we couldn't take away; so, at least for this, I feel lucky you are not coming back here! I wish it were clear to you that we are not a hotel, so we do not provide trash bags or free pool cleaning. If you felt the need of a person that cleans the pool, I would have immediately sent it, with an additional cost. I would also like to clarify that the beds are new and comfortable and that the pool filtering system worked and workes perfectly as the WIFI!!! You decided to book our property knowing that air conditioning costs 60 euro per week...So you cannot be surprised!!! I would rather ask you where you have been when they offered a house, a swimming pool and a garden for exclusive use and provide you hotel services included in the price, including trash bags and some nourishing shampoo!!! Please..I am really curious! I invite you not to speak inappropriately about my business. I suggest, however, that you forgot to consider that after collection, I pay taxes to the State and the costs. Perhaps you're not used to do it?! This was the perfect week in Sardinia. The villa is just as described. We were made to feel at home and it was very comfortable and relaxing. Federica and her mum couldn't have done a better job at making us feel welcome. I highly recommend this villa. It was very peaceful and only a few minutes into town.
“Wonderful Stay in Alghero”
We had a wonderful week in Alghero in Villa Romantica. The house and pool were immaculately clean and it was exactly as the photos. Very welcome juice and pastries laid out by the lovely owners. We had two small children and everything was set up for their arrival, two cots, two mattresses, fresh sheets and two feeding chairs. We felt really welcome and hope to be back again one day. Very nice people to deal with too - a warm welcome and very easy departure. I would have no hesitation recommending to family and friends.

We just had a great week at Villa Romantica. Lovely house and garden, nicely decorated, very well kept. Received by the owners who also made sure there were food & drinks to get us started. Would go back at any time!
