Description from owner

Description

A romantic retreat, a walker's paradise or just a place to chill and relax, the Old Piggery is a separate building within the garden of a C17th farmhouse. Our organic farm is within the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the views from the Old Piggery are extensive. You may see deer, hares, red kite, buzzard and certainly our Red Poll Cattle and wandering chickens. You can see the stars from here as there is almost no light pollution. Children and a dog are welcome.

The accommodation is as for a studio with one large room which has a 5 foot double bed, a single sofa bed, another sofa and a dining area. There is a separate fully equipped kitchen and a shower room plus French windows which open onto the old pigsties where you can sit or dine outside overlooking the garden and our fields and woods.

Although we are right out in the countryside, we are only 4 miles south of the A303 (main road from London to the South West), 6 miles from Shaftesbury

Tisbury railway station is 3 miles (main line from London Waterloo to Exeter).

Location description from owner

The England region

This area is renowned for its beautiful countryside and the nearby city of Salisbury with its stunning cathedral still looking as it did in Constable's painting. Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offer visitors the chance to escape and unwind. Stonehenge, a world heritage site over four thousand years old, is 15 miles north east on Salisbury plain, wide and open. Cools Farm is in more intimate countryside - many of its fields have original Saxon boundaries - with gently sloping hills and natural woodland.

Salisbury

Cools Farm is in beautiful countryside on the Wiltshire / Dorset border. A working farm with British rare breed Red Poll cattle and roaming chickens, it offers you a chance to experience rural life in a safe, comfortable environment. Fantastic walks all around, bicycle routes, farm tour, trout fishing in our private lake (at extra cost) are all available on site. Further afield are the village of Tisbury (3 miles) where you can still shop in an old fashioned High Street with butcher, greengrocer, delicatessen, cobbler, gift shops, small supermarket and Beatons Tea Shop.
