Description from owner

Description

Le Moulin de Pattus is a beautiful 17th century stone watermill in the heart of the Gard countryside in the sunny South of France.

It lies on the Vidourle river nearest to the pretty village of Salinelles and 3km from the picturesque medieval town of Sommieres which is half an hour from the cities of Nimes and Montpellier - each with their own airport.

The sandy beaches of the Mediterranean are about 35 mins away. The mill has a fenced old style bassin swimming pool (7m x 11m,) it's own river beach with 2 kayaks (each for 2 adults and a child), games room (pool table, table tennis, paints, Lego, Play Doh and other toys), mini football pitch, and an adventure playground for young children.

The area surrounding the mill is idyllic countryside - superb for peaceful walks, cycle riding (bikes provided), and fishing.

The mill has accommodation for up to 9 people so can be a lovely place to stay for a couple seeking peace and tranquillity in a stunning location yet near to cafes, restaurants and thriving busy markets... or two families wanting a fun but safe environment which caters to all their needs.

Long stays available off season ask for rates.

Within 5 minutes walk, you can find 3 restaurants, a boulangerie / general store a bar / cafe and the post office in Salinelles. 5 minutes drive into Sommieres will take you to 2 supermarkets and lots of bars and restaurants and more or less everything else that you will need.

The third bedroom has 3 single beds and is up a small wooden staircase and is under the eaves of the house a great den style bedroom loved by children.

This gite has 2 WCs, one shower room and one bathroom.

Our WaterMill is extremely child friendly with stair gates, fenced pool, lots of toys and games, bikes for all ages, kayaks with life jackets - painting and drawing kit and a book full of interesting places to visit for families.

Further details outdoors

We have an 11 x 7m heated pool with infinity edge that is shared with 2 other gites. Around the pool you'll find a sandpit, paddling pools and toys for the pool.

The pool is fenced for child safety but lots of space to run around and good quality sunbeds for mum and dad to sit on.

We also have a fenced play park for little ones with slide, swings and see saws - and somewhere to sit for mum and dad. Right next door we have a half sized football pitch with goals and balls.

We have 2 x 2 seater kayaks (life jackets supplied for little ones) so you can paddle up and down the river - or perhaps just paddle and use one of the nets to catch some tiddlers...

We have a great range of bikes to borrow (safe paths away from roads for rides...signposted right from our door) - including a tandem - and 2 baby seats. Also bikes for kids (some with stabilisers and some trikes)
