Substantially refurbished Spring 2015, a modern cottage located on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula within extensive secluded private garden grounds. A stunning waterfront location offering luxury flexible self catering accommodation for 8 persons in 4 king or twin sized rooms. Enjoy comfort and privacy in this spacious accommodation. 30 miles from Fort William, a great base for family and friends to visit Scotland's historic and characterful Highlands and also the stunning Hebridean Islands. A short walk will take you to the local Salen Hotel where you can enjoy local hospitality with restaurant and bar facilities. Families and dogs are very welcome.

Oil fired heating, log fire with wood provided, sky tv package, broadband, wi-fi, laptop, gas bbq, teak garden furniture, 4 adult mountain bikes, and garage available for storage.

Bring your own boat/kayak. A private bay, jetty and pontoons are available for use by separate arrangement with our immediate neighbours - launching of man handled watercraft may be free. Ample space is available at the cottage for storing boats during your stay. Fishing/day boats can be chartered nearby or you are welcome to fish direct from the garden or the nearby jetty (by arrangement).

Enjoy Scotland's rocky coastline or its beautiful silver sands all located within easy reach on the peninsula. A ferry trip will take you over to Mull, the small isles - or further a field.

Local licensed grocers/gift shop/cafe stocking groceries and local produce.

Various restaurants/eateries located 0-10 mile radius.

Main bathroom with shower and separate bath.

If brave enough, swimming can be enjoyed in the adjacent bay!

Getting around

Car is a must to get around. However, there is a very limited bus service which passes through the village and can take you to Mallaig, Fort William or Corran ferry. See Shiel buses website for more information on timetables. Bikes are available to rent from Strontian if you want to get around locally. If you want to visit the islands, you can catch a ferry to Mull from Kilchoan, Lochaline or Oban. A ferry from either Arisaig or Mallaig will get you across to the small isles - Muck, Eigg, Rum and Canna.

Interaction with guest

We will usually be available to welcome you to the cottage when the cottage becomes available to you at 4pm. We will be happy to chat to you about local activities, places to eat etc. If you plan to arrive much later, we will be happy to make alternative arrangements with you to leave the keys. Mostly we are available locally over the weekend of your arrival to help with any queries you may have. Otherwise we are available by phone, text and email.

The house is a credit to the owner with stunning views,in a great location it has everything you will need and lots more besides i will be return again.

“Excellent Cottage”

This is a excellent cottage lovely place to stay very big lots of room. I Went with my family 5 Adults 2 Kids (7) we all had a great time had a lovely barbecue on the back of the cottage. Barbecue is in the property there is also bike you can use. Nikki left use some lovely Flowers + Lemon cake and grapes on arrival was so lovely made you feel so welcome. Your need to take ferry across to salen (£8.20 one way) or you can drive around it is about 30-40 mins get your shopping before you arrive. I can not say this enough it is a lovely place to stay. Nikki is also very fast at replying to any thing I asked. I only have one down side the WIFI is not good (1mb) speed if more than 1 person using it not good I think speed not good because were the cottage is. I know you go there not to stay in but in the evening or on a raining day it be nice so you can go on Netfix or just streaming on your tablet or laptop but there is SKY TV. Highly Recommended it great cottage. Thank you Nikka for all you did to make it a lovely place. Alan

“A little slice of tranquility tucked away in Salen Bay”

We travelled to Tigh Na Creagan with a large group of extended family, and it proved to be an excellent base for exploring the Ardnamurchan peninsula. We were looking for a cottage that was remote, yet accessible, and would provide enough space for a large group to spend a week comfortably, and we were not disappointed. The house sits in its own extensive garden overlooking the jetty in Salen Bay, and has nice views of the bay and the hills surrounding Loch Sunart. Although the house is accessible by road, the grounds are large enough to make the property feel secluded and private. The jetty provided us with a convenient starting point for a memorable boat trip to Tobermory where we observed porpoise, dolphins, seals an a whole host of birds. The road behind the house was quiet and facilitated early morning runs to Laga, as well as being a starting point for an excellent day trip hitch-hiking to Sanna, which hosts one of Europe's most remote and beautiful wild beaches. Ardnamurchan is a beautiful part of the highlands, and Tigh Na Creagan is perfectly situated for exploring it. The house also provides the perfect environment to simply eat, relax and enjoy the views.

“A little piece of heaven”

Fantastic setting with a warm and friendly welcome from the owners.They had thought of everything right down to fresh flowers, fruit,and a lovely freshly made cake.The house was warm and has a real friendly feel about it.In our party there were 4 adults 3 teenagers and 2 eight year old girls oh and not forgetting the family dog Jazz.There was plenty of space for us all and loads for the kids and adults to do. Within easy reach was Fort William (Morrisons supermarket) fantastic beaches,and breath taking views around every bend.Going back August 2012 and cannot wait.
