A recently restored 30 year old bungalow with tiled floors and terracing around the house. There are four bedrooms; two with king-sized beds one of which opens onto the terrace and garden, and two with single beds. Each of the two bathrooms offers either a bath or a shower. Wardrobes and cupboards can be found throughout the bungalow.

The living area has a high ceiling with beams, and doors leading out to terrace and garden. This room is open plan to a fabulous kitchen. Extensive units designed to offer ample storage for china, glassware and cooking equipment. There is a large fridge, electric cooker, electric ceramic hob, dishwasher and washing machine.

A large table allows seating for eight people (a further garden table is situated outside). The living area leads out on to a private terrace, ideal for barbecues, another terrace overlooks the pool and garden. Comfortable sun loungers are supplied. All towels and bed linen are supplied at 20€ per person.

TO MAKE A RESERVATION:

A 25% deposit , payable by bank transfer, is required to secure your booking. The remainder is due 6 weeks before arrival.

It would be very much appreciated if, for the comfort of other guests, smokers could refrain from smoking inside the house.

REFUNDABLE BREAKAGES DEPOSIT:

We will ask you for 500€ on arrival which will be returned to you after your holiday providing everything looks to be in order (subject to satisfactory property inspection).

END-OF-STAY CLEANING:

Guests may opt either to clean on departure or use our cleaning service at a cost of 70 euros.

CLEANING DURING YOUR STAY:

Can be arranged at a cost of 14€ per/hour.

There are two beautiful south facing patio/garden areas. One is situated just next to the kitchen living area and is equipped with a set of teak garden furniture for 8 - ideal for lazy alfresco meals during your stay. This area can also be accessed via 2 of the bedrooms - a lovely way to start the day - leisurely breakfasts in a secluded area.
The other area overlooks the heated pool and comes with a set of sun loungers - how about drinks around the pool to finish off the day?

Car parking is available just by the house.
There is a plenty of space in the garden to put bikes.

The department of Charente Maritime is situated on the west coast of France bordered with beautiful sandy beaches to harbours, salt marshes to coastal defences, oyster beds to vineyards.

The organisation of events such as Sites en Scène, Fort Boyard, La Rochelle's Fancofolies, the Festival du Cinéma, the Grand Pavois, the Whitbread Trophy and major international sailing events, the Saintes Académies Musicales and the Montguyon Music Festival all contribute daily to the heritage and vitality of Charente Maritime.

Sainte Marie de Re

Ile de Ré, off La Rochelle is linked to the mainland by a bridge. It offers an idealized version of French life. Cars are in the minority; most people use the cycle paths that criss-cross the island’s vineyards, pine forests and salt flats. Ile de Ré salt is now predictably fashionable in gastro circles. The ice cream is hand made and the glorious sandy beaches - all open to the public - are well suited to shrimping and picnics.

The house is on the outskirts of St Marie de Ré, in a village called La Noue. It is a quiet, secluded and tranquil setting, home to an incredible variety of plant and bird life. The village has its own produce market, offering high quality fresh fish and locally farmed oysters, cheese and patisserie. Everything is within walking distance including two restaurants, a newsagent and an antique shop.

Just 15km long and a mere 100 metres at its narrowest point, the island of Ré is home to 16 000 people. The residents congregate around ten main large villages, including St Marie de Ré on the island's southern most tip.

On Ré's southern side you will find many expansive beaches and on its northern side many yachting harbours. Though most visitors arrive in the summer, Ré has much to offer throughout the year - the temperatures may drop after September, but the sun is ever present all year round. Ré's close proximity to mainland cities make it an ideal place as a base camp to explore other cities (Bordeaux and Nantes are just two hours away; La Rochelle a mere 30 minutes). The construction of a bridge in 1988 puts everything within close proximity.

“Flocon de Sel, perfect location for a stay in Ile de Re”

We have stayed at Flocon de Sel 3 times now in the last two years. Groups of 6,7 and 4..The owners Isabelle & Ian are most welcoming & always keen to help with any questions.The house is just as described & the photographs are true to view!. Its very comfortable, clean & very well equipped. La Noue is a perfect location to stay, quieter than some which is nice. has 2/3 good local restaurants, market, fish, & a fab cheese shop, plus 2 good patisseries all only a few min's walk..Beach also only 5 mins walk. By far the best way to see the island is cycling..We'll certainly be back again sometime toward the end of the season...

“Perfect holiday home with stunning gardens”

We returned to Flocon de Sel in August 2016, having thoroughly enjoyed our stay the previous summer. As a family of five (children currently 9, 8 and 6) often with a grandparent in tow, the layout of Flocon de Sel is perfect, with airy rooms leading directly onto the huge outdoor terrace and gardens. The gite is equipped with everything you need and we greatly value the degree of privacy it offers with its own stunningly designed gardens and beautiful planting schemes. The pool and pool terrace are both a fantastic size and superbly kept - this is our favourite place to relax while the children swim or play games in the garden. The entrance is securely gated, so it is safe for children to play freely Ian and Isabelle are incredibly welcoming, quickly and warmly responding to any queries and offering their help. Flocon de Sel is located in La Noue, just across the road from the cycle path - we enjoy biking to the lovely beaches near Bois-Plage or across to La Flotte or St Martin. If you like running, there are some lovely runs along the beach paths towards Sainte-Marie or through the vineyards towards La Flotte. Arguably the best bakery on the island is a couple of minutes walk away and you can cycle to the nearby supermarket in five minutes. Even in summer, the beaches of Ile de Re remain uncrowded and the various towns around the island are a delight to explore. We are looking forward to our third visit in the summer of 2017 (and we never usually return to the same place twice)!

We had a wonderful week in La Noue and Flocon de Sel. The house was just like this site describes it - clean, well equiped and very kozy. The owners, Isabelle and Ian, are so nice and welcoming and very service-minded. They answer any questions about the area and they were doing everything to make us feel comfortable. Our teenaged boys, and our girls who are a little younger, said they prefer to stay at the island compared to La Rochelle. We found La Noue very peacefull, beautyful and most important of all - very safe and secure. Hireing bikes was a good investment, you get easily around - a comfortable way of exploring the island. We can absolutely recommend this place, and when we return, it will be for at least 2 weeks!!

We were two friends with our teenage kids and we had a fantastic time in the house. It was a wonderful house and perfect location. Nice bakery and marketplace and close to everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Isabel and Ian were very helpful and nice hosts, and we all enjoyed our stay. We would love to come back, but then we will stay for more than one week.
