The Poitou-Charentes region
Our hamlet is the perfect location to go and visit such towns as La Rochelle, Le Futuroscope, Saint Emilion and Bordeaux that are all less than one and a half hour by car.
Cognac, 20' by car, itself has a medieval quarter with narrow cobbled streets, the Château des Valois, an Art and History museum, ancient churches, the Museum of Arts and Techniques of Cognac (MACO), a nice public garden, not to mention the famous cognac trading houses. The area is also home to many impressive Romanesque churches.
Cognac is famous as a spirit, but it is also a city and, most unknown, a vineyards with amazing people and surprising things to discover.
Activities nearby Le Coche include jet skiing, canoeing, biking, hot air ballooning and, of course, discovery of the vineyards, that have the largest concentration of traditional distilleries in the world and most of the French cooperages.
On request, we organize visits of distilleries, cooperages and tastings of local wines, Pineau des Charentes and cognacs.
Children are not forgotten: you can visit as a family the dinosaurs cemetery where was discovered a bone of the largest dinosaur in the world, the Gallo Roman baths in Chassenon, make an educational path in a family wine estate. You can visit a trading house with a small train in Cognac, browse through the Comic Strip Museum of Angoulême where everyone can read or draw albums
