This area of France is great for the wine connoisseur or those who just want to experience the tastings.
With fields of vines, orchards and sunflowers in the surrounding areas, and the long river Dordogne to wander along in the long hot summer evenings are just wonderful.
As well as the towns and villages there are all means of activities close by, horse riding, golf, canoeing etc all within easy reach.

Castillon La Battaille(7k) where the French after 100 yrs drove out the English. Mondays is market day.
Libourne is a wonderful ancient bastide town. Market day is Thurs.

Brilliant gite in the most beautiful location. We loved the peace and quiet, lots of wonderful walks (the dog loved it too) Many thanks to Robert for making our stay so memorable - we loved picking our own veggies from his plot and also for the welcome pack - much appreciated nothing was too much trouble. Definitely will come again 1 not to be missed.

"welcoming, home from home gite in rural France, what more could you want?"
We have just had the most relaxing time here, the weather and gite were perfect. We took our bikes and got out on them most days with a different route each time. The riding is easy going on quiet roads which wind through vineyards, small sleepy villages and paths which follow the Dordogne. The pool was a welcome cooling relief when it was hot in the saddle! Robert is the 'host with the most', his allotment has tomatoes, cucumber, green beans, courgettes, aubergines, peppers, chillies, onions and garlic all of which he encourages guests to pick fresh. The accommodation offers everything anyone needs and if it doesn't Robert will make sure he gets it. Thank you Robert for a great holiday

"Relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings with friendly host."
We stayed at La Maison aux Volets Verts for one week this August and had a really lovely holiday. The setting was very beautiful. Lovely areas to go for walks, seats placed in peaceful places, perfect for a relaxing time. The swimming pool and jacuzzi although not big were a lovely addition to the grounds and as the weather was hot a great place to chill out Robert our host was very friendly and extremely helpful.
