From the owner

Le Tilleul Barn is a well equipped self catering Gite set in the Loire Valley just South of Saumur (20Kms) and in the small Hamlet of Chambernou in Saint-Macaire-du-Bois. It has its own tranquil private gardens that have a magnificent view of open countryside. It is child friendly for families but can also accommodate up to 6 Adults. We are within easy reach of Le-Puy-Notre-Dame, Montreuil-Bellay and Doue-la-Fontaine plus there are many other interesting places to visit which have beautiful Chateauxs and lots of history. There is a wine domain 5 minutes walking distance from the property for excellent local wines.

We also have 2 x Z-Beds if anybody wants to use them with good thick mattresses in case you want a child in the same room as yourselves

Pool Installation 10 x 4 metres (Shared with Owners) - Sun Loungers, Table & Chairs are available.

There is a double bed with a large en-suite shower room on the ground floor with french doors leading to the garden. Upstairs you will find a large double room with a four poster bed and a vaulted beamed chapel ceiling with windows on three sides to capture the countryside views. Plus another twin bedded room with countryside views. We also have 2 x Z-Beds available if a child needs to be in the same room as the parents. There is another refitted family shower room and separate toilet. Each bedroom is naturally bright and airy. Downstairs you will find a Lounge and Kitchen/Dining area which comes fully equipped with everything you could wish for to make a very pleasant stress free holiday plus a wood burning stove for those cooler evenings. From the Lounge there are French doors which open out onto the sunny private garden where we provide a BBQ, Garden Table & Chairs and Umbrella for alfresco outdoor eating. All rooms have electric heaters as well as the wood burner. In cooler months a small charge will be made for any extra electricity used as the Barn has its own meter. There is a large TV with UK Freeview channels. We also have bicycles that can be used for leisurely rides around the stunning local countryside & vineyards which are within walking distance if you wish to purchase and sample some very nice local wines. You are in an area where there are many Domains for Wine Tasting and Tours are available.

We are British owners who live in the Farmhouse which is completely separate to the rented Gites and are here if you need any help or advice but will not interfere if you prefer to do your own exploring.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Rita and Ed (the owner) a message.

If Rita and Ed (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
