Location description from owner

The Island of Malta region

The Maltese Islands are positively mythic. The narrow meandering streets of their towns and villages are crowded with Renaissance cathedrals and Baroque palaces. As the countryside is dotted with the oldest known human structures in the world, the Islands have rightly been described as an open-air museum.

The Maltese archipelago lies virtually at the centre of the Mediterranean, with Malta 93km south of Sicily and 288km north of Africa. The archipelago consists of three islands: Malta, Gozo and Comino with a total population of 400,000 inhabitants over an area of 316sq km and a coastline of 196.8km (not including 56.01 km for the island of Gozo).

Malta is the largest island and the cultural, commercial and administrative centre. Gozo is the second largest island and is more rural, characterised by fishing, tourism, crafts and agriculture while Comino is largely uninhabited and most famous for the Blue Lagoon featured in numerous films.

With superbly sunny weather, clear warm sea, a thriving nightlife and 7,000 years of intriguing history, there is a great deal to see and do. With a little help from any guidebook, captivating places of interest are immediately identified – the world famous Hypogeum selected as a place of World Heritage by UNESCO, prehistoric temples and grand palaces are but a few.

The long relationship between the Islanders and the various nationalities that occupied Malta over the centuries has created a marriage of styles and traditions, giving the Islands a fascinating eclectic culture

Saint Julian's

St Julians was initially a fishing village, later turned to a summer residence for wealthy locals and now developed into one of the Island's mostly fetched resorts for night life and entertainment, especially for the youngsters and the middle aged. Within walking distance to Paceville, this village still retains some of it's old dwellings and boat houses.

The small bay still shelters numerous coloured Maltese boats that are berthed here all year long. St Julians derives it's name from the Patron Saint of hunters.St Julians is a village for all ages and walks of life. The young at heart will enjoy nearby Paceville - this locality offers much to tourists looking for nightlife entertainment, including discos, bars , Casino , restaurants and other entertainment.

Sliema and St Julians resort are Malta's main coastal resort towns and a heartland for shopping, entertainment and café life. They are also key commercial and residential areas with some of Malta's newest hotels and apartments.

The sea front at St Julian's offers stunning views and open horizons and is a popular meeting place and ideal for walkers and joggers. St Julian's and Paceville are Malta's main nightlife areas. Picturesque St Julian's Bay, still used by fishermen, is lined with bougainvillea-clad cafés and restaurants. Paceville offers a vibrant nightlife to suit all tastes. Choose from the latest in club DJ music to quieter piano bars, an elegant casino and superb restaurants.

This apartment is very spacious and in a wonderful location overlooking Spinola Bay. Albert is a perfect host being extremely courteous and helpful. The best recommendation was can make is that we've already booked the apartment for October 2017!

“Great apartment, great location”

Reviewed 27 Mar 2015

Really pleasant spacious apartment, well equipped, helpful owner and in a great location for what we wanted. Coped with three generations without problems. View over the bay from balcony was just great icing on the cake Another bonus was a good selection of eating places and shopping a very short walk away. There was street parking, but it did get busy. We found spaces usually available near the hotel at other end of Spinola Road.

“Huge apartment in perfect location”

Reviewed 15 Mar 2015

This was a brilliant place to stay for a holiday in Malta. The apartment was huge. From the street entrance it was two floors up and there was a lift. The apartment opened in to a long hallway. There were three large bedrooms off this. The master bedroom bigger than some apartments we've stayed in, and it had an en-suite bathroom. There was plenty of storage so all the luggage was out if sight for the whole week. There was a shower room, complete with washing machine, and a very large kitchen containing everything needed to self-cater. The end of the hallway opened on to a large living and dining area. This was a very spacious light room, as there were two sets of patio doors that opened on to the south facing balcony. It was a quiet apartment as there is no traffic at the front. The view from the balcony over Spinola Bay was beautiful at all times of the day. Even in February we were able to sit with a drink and read watching what was going on. As the apartment is on a hill is it higher at the front, looking over the bay, than at the back where you enter from the street. The location is great too. There were food and drink shops within 5 minutes walk, and countless restaurants and bars very close by. Cuba, at the end of the street overlooking the bay, became a favourite and was excellent for the 2 for 1 cocktails during Happy Hour. We travelled to several places by bus during our week. The bus stops are also within 5 minutes walk of the apartment and travel is just €1.50 per day! We had one rainy day (not bad for the time of year) and spent it being lazy, and going to the cinema in St Julians, probably 15-20 minutes walk away at the most. The cinema prices were very cheap. We had a couple of problems during out stay and on both occasions Albert sorted them out for us immediately. There was no DVD player, and when he realised it had been moved he brought another one round (we stayed in after our evening meals as the apartment was so comfortable). On another occasion the electricity went off. This was caused by a problem with the en-suite water heater. Again Albert sorted the electricity out and was arranging for a plumber to attend. This was not a problem as there was another shower room. The apartment and location made the holiday and I would definitely return.

“Great stay in a great apartment!”

Reviewed 8 Dec 2014

The apartment is absolutely huge!!! Clean, comfortable, with a great view and close to restaurants, shops and any kind of facility! Bus stop is 50 mt from the apartment. In any case the best surprise was the fact that the apartment was ACTUALLY as described!!! We were 6 people divided into 3 private rooms + 2 bathrooms. The kitchen is very big and living room even more. Tv, internet were the added value to all the great situation. Unfortunatelly we found rain, but it was November and it was raining all over the mediteranean area. In any case we found the way to enjoy the stay and visit La Valletta and Mdina. We hope to be back soon in this beautiful island and and we reccomand this apartment and is owner Albert that was very helpful and active since the first contact.

“Excellent appartment”

Reviewed 5 Dec 2014

Returned to St Julian's for a short break with my kids. I am pleased to have chosen this appartment, firstly because of its location being walking distance to all amenities, and also due to its excellent finish, proper maintenance, and most importantly spaciousness. The chap who met us in very organized and was punctual to accommodate our awkward arrival and departure times. Highly recommended.

“Good location with lovely balcony views”

This was a well appointed 3 bedroom flat overlooking Spinola Bay. Close to restaurants and bars and handy for buses round the island.

Albert was very helpful during the booking process and upon arrival. The apartment was spacious, clean and well equipped. A very enjoyable stay.
