This large apartment is just off the scenic Spinola Bay, St Julian's, Malta. This area is very scenic with its traditional Maltese fishing boats. It is also the centre of activity from wonderful restaurants, stylish bars, fishing boats, shops, and links to Sliema, Paceville, Valletta and the rest of the island. This apartment is only a stone throw away from the local bus stops and you will also find a large new supermarket if required. Being located at the heart of St Julian's this apartment has easy access to the best Malta has to offer in terms of the best restaurants and night life. St Julian's holds many fantastic restaurants. If you stay in St Julian's you have the perfect platform to easily explore the rest of the island of Malta. The transport links are fantastic or guests can rent a car and leave it outside the apartment where you will find on street parking. Perfect for the family and larger groups. Malta, officially known as the Republic of Malta (Maltese: Repubblika ta' Malta), is a Southern European country consisting of an archipelago situated in the centre of the Mediterranean, 80 km (50 mi) south of Sicily, 284 km (176 mi) east of Tunisia and 333 km (207 mi) north of Libya, with Gibraltar 1,755 km (1,091 mi) to the west and Alexandria 1,508 km (937 mi) to the east. Malta covers just over 316 km2 (122 sq mi) in land area, making it one of the world's smallest states. It is also one of the most densely populated countries worldwide. The de facto capital city of Malta is Valletta; the largest town, Birkirkara. The main island comprises many towns, which together form one Larger Urban Zone (LUZ) with a population of 368,250 according to Eurostat. The country has two official languages, Maltese (considered the national language) and English. Throughout history, Malta's location has given it great strategic importance, and a succession of powers including the Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Normans, Aragonese, Habsburg Spain, Knights of St John, French and the British ruled the islands. Malta gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1964 and became a republic in 1974, whilst retaining membership in the Commonwealth of Nations. Malta was admitted to the United Nations in 1964 and to the European Union in 2004. Malta is also party to the Schengen Agreementand in 2008 it became part of the eurozone. Malta is internationally renowned as a tourist destination, with numerous recreational areas and historical monuments, including nine UNESCO World Heritage Sites, most prominently the Megalithic Temples which are some of the oldest free-standing structures in the world.
Malta is a traveller-friendly country that provides holidays options for people on all budgets, and allows for more than just warm-weather, beach-going vacations – there's a good deal of history, culture and tradition to explore too, so this island is a great choice if you are thinking of a long weekend here in the low season which could constitute a cheap and fun city break or a 2 week action packed vacation. The country is so small you could cover most of the main highlights in just a few days although in two weeks you could really learn the best of what is on offer in the Maltese Islands to include Malta, Gozo and Comino. Malta has a typically Mediterranean climate, with mild winters, hot, dry summers and some 300 days of sunshine which is always welcome. For this reasons Malta is considered an all year round destination. It is also why Malta is so popular with the rest of Europe due to its easy accessibility and access to cheap flights. One can find affordable flights and package deals at any time of year. There aren't too many alternatives to Malta if you want to stay within Europe and still be sunbathing in November! Winters are not at all unpleasant here, with an average of six hours of sunshine daily in January and daytime temperatures around 16ºC. Sea temperatures around the islands range from 15ºC in midwinter, to a balmy 25ºC in August and September.
This luxury apartment is just off Sliema Strand, and up a quiet street. Although the street is very peaceful the location is perfect for easy access to all the restaurants and nightlife. In addition the local bus stop will give you access to the rest of the island for as little as 40c. Travel is very cheap on the island if required. Even if you prefer to food shop and eat in you will find a new large supermarket under 1 minute walk from the apartment. Sliema is a seaside town that is situated on the East of the island close to Paceville and St Julian's. This area has many pretty bays. You will also find the well known area of Pacevile close by for all nightlife and the modern shopping facility of Tigne Point. Here you will find most of Malta's nightlife, nice restaurants, the Bay Street Shopping Centre as well as much more including the Dragonara Casino. The bay is filled with small typical Maltese fishing boats. The locals also go swimming on the coast and you will find many close lidos. If you venture further around the coast you will find St Julian's, which is about a fifteen minute walk. Here there are more shops, a couple of rocky beaches and access to Valletta, the historical and protected World Heritage city, one of the few fortified cities remaining in the world.

“Great, central location.”
Large, spacious flat in great, central and quiet location. Really handy for both the rocky beaches a few minutes away and St George's sandy beach about 10 mins. walk. Lots of lovely restaurants around about and so easy to hop on the bus to visit other areas of Malta. Air conditioning a must as very hot in July. Small balcony, mainly for drying washing, but managed to have a wee sit outside too. Had a look at the roof area which has not to be used and wondered why this has not been made into a usable space for a roof terrace? Certainly big enough and would have been pleasant to sit out in in the early evening as well as during the day for sun bathing. We only had some hot drinks in the apartment, didn't do any other self catering, but the apartment seemed well equipped with crockery etc. We travelled independently by bus from the airport- 40 minutes and found the apartment easily, thanks to Mark's detailed instructions, but would recommend alternative bus or taxi to travel back, not X1 , as it took 80 mins. for return journey. 7 day bus ticket for 12 euros is a fantastic way to see around the island. Would certainly recommend for being such a good location to stay.
“Lovely apartment would recommend”
We had a wonderful time on holiday and the apartment was everything we had hoped for. The location could not have been better and the flat was really nice and spacious! Air-conditioning was great as we went in the summer. The host also really went out of his way to provide us with the best possible service and arranged transfers for us as we arrived in the early hours. St Julian's was also a great base for us. I'm 100% sure we will come back!
