The interior of the house is spacious and light and comfortably furnished. There are two shower rooms and one bathroom all with washbasins and toilets and two bedrooms with double beds, one with two singles which can be made up together as a king size and a room with a single bed and foldaway ideal for young children.
The spacious dining kitchen is well equipped with everything you could possibly need. It has a large pine table and houses an American style large fridge with automatic ice dispenser and purified cool water tap. The utility room contains a dishwasher , washing machine and tumble drier and a drinks fridge. The kitchen opens onto a dining terrace with shaded area perfect for enjoying your mealtimes whilst overlooking a beautiful view over the valley.
The light and airy sitting room has an English television, DVD and video machine and also a CD player with a wide choice of music to select from. There are shelves of books in this room for visitors' to enjoy.
The dining hall is well equipped and has a large dining table, French dresser and comfortable chaise longue.
There are various other tables and chairs around the property for eating and relaxing.
There are several fruit trees in the garden and outside the kitchen is a productive vegetable and herb garden which visitors are invited to pick from.
For breakfast croissants the baker is less than a mile down the hill at St. Fort . This little town also has a small supermarket, post office, hairdressers and a bar with restaurant. Other restaurants can be found at the nearby ports of Port Maubert and Mortagne about 10 mins away.
The airports of Bordeaux and La Rochelle are just over one hour away. This a great centre for a holiday with many interesting and historic towns to visit and a choice of many beautiful beaches , coves, long sandy beaches and wild surfing beaches from 25 mins. from the house.
This is a famous seafood and oyster area with plenty of restaurants to choose from.
The area is also well known for its wines and Cognac and there are many opportunities nearby for wine , pineau and Cognac tasting . The nearest being at the bottom of our garden !
There are many interesting towns to visit including Bordeaux, Cognac, Royan, Saintes, St. Emilion etc. etc.
