The barn retains much of the original charm ,oak beams and everything needed for a self catering holiday.Set in the countryside surrounded by vinyards and sunflowers ,the barn is attached to the main farmhouse which stands in a very large garden 7,000 m2 .
Master bedroom with ensuite bathroom.There are two single beds in the room as well.
There is a great kitchen/diner ideal for family meals or entertaining and a washing machine.
To the front there is a large covered veranda with outdoor seeting .
The house is just 20 miles from the beach at Mecshers.There are lots of small fishing ports and restaurants within the area as well as great countryside and wildlife reserves.Good walks along the Gironde estuary great for bird watching !
The owners have the main farmhouse at the property and are on hand to maintain the pool and garden.

“Perfect and peaceful”
A stunningly beautiful house in a peaceful and unspoiled location. We arrived to a very warm welcome even though we were late. Kim took the time to show us around even though his dinner was waiting! Kim has performed a miracle with Chez Chevalier. Whilst all modern appliances and comforts are available, the house exhibits its older origins to great effect with beautifully restored stone and timber detail. All four of us had a great time and our springer had the time of his life. The most relaxing week we had for a while. Kim will leave you to enjoy complete privacy if you wish but is more than happy to help and assist with any queries. Superb accommodation fantastic pool and great location should make Chez Chevalier your first choice. We will definitely return.
Back again, last here in 2013. We traveled with our 7 year old son and another couple. While the weather was disappointing Chez Chavlier was not. A great base to head for for day trips. We went to a near by Le Chateux des Enigmes in Pons, a theme park plunging you into a world of pirates for 3 hours of fun. Our son loved it,we had a great time too. Another day we drove to Les Grottes de Matata, beautiful caves with a deep history with a cave museum with a fab crepe restaurant with views over the gironde estuary in Meschers -sur-Gironde. Another day trip to Talmont-sur-Gironde, which is officially listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. So on the days that we could not use the pool there was lots to do. We also headed into Cognac and toured Chateaux de Cognac - Baron Otard. A great tour and a Chateaux with very interesting history. We enjoyed again our time here, great food, wine and great company in our friends that came with us. I highly recommend Chez Chavlier, The photos do not do this house justice, the pool is fab. We lit the fire every night, glass of wine in hand, a truly relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting with all the comforts of home.
“A true bit of French Paradise, peaceful, great pool area..Lots to do..”
Where do I start, my husband and our four year old boy stayed here for a week in June. This property is on 2 acres, my little boy could walk to 'visit the hens' then walk and pick 3 strawberries - one for each of us and we could see him at all times. Fantastic place to chill and unwind. The pool is amazing- shallow area for smaller children and toddlers and then 6ft deep for more experienced swimmers. About 15 mins to a good supermarket, local and reasonable restaurants nearby. Great for walks and cycling, very peaceful, a great place to get away from it all. We visited La Palmyre Zoo in Royan which was great and a favourite of ours Saint Emilion. Highly recommend this property with excellent hosts to anyone wanting some decent downtime. Sitting room very comfortable with log fire, also the main bedroom has a log fire as well.. While we did not need to lit the fire we could not resist on one or two occasions. Kitchen is well equipped should you decide to stay in which we did on most evenings.The property was so nice we enjoyed sitting out for dinner at the pool or cooking on the barbeque. I would highly recommend this property we had a great time.
“An absolute gem!”
If it is a french rustic experience you are looking for then this is for you. We spent one week of our lives in a dream house providing an unforgetable experience. Located only 10 minutes from the Gironde but in the middle of the Pinaeu vineyards this is the real french deal with either the gorgeous pool or the nearby towns to entertain you then I promise you will not be disappointed. The hosts Kim and Maggie are a lovely couple and will ensure that all of your requirements including fresh eggs from the resident hens are met.
“Beautiful accommodation with individuality and style”
We stayed in this renovated farmhouse during August with 3 younger children & 2 teenagers. The setting is quiet & peaceful, in a small hamlet surrounded by fields of vines & sunflowers. The house offers a great combination of rustic charm & contemporary style. Most of our time was spent relaxing in the pool area which was larger than expected & beautifully clean. There is a comfortable shaded seating area & bar with a fridge in addition to a BBQ area & further outdoor fridge, great for keeping drinks cool without needing to go back inside the house! There was WiFi & a TV with British channels available which was perfect for our teenage children. Kim & Maggie were friendly & helpful hosts. We really enjoyed our stay in this great house which offers far more than you would usually expect with a holiday let.
