From the owner

Beautiful and private Vermont getaway on 17 acres of woods and fields. Spring is in the air and blooms are on the fruit trees. You will be greeted by colorful flowers and the birds will herald the morning sunrise. There is a slate patio with a barbeque, outside table and chairs, stone benches and a covered porch with a great view (and smaller barbeque, incase it should rain), there is even a hammock on the porch. Inside you will find a complete kitchen, along with all the pots, pans and utensils to make a simple snack or a fantastic feast. There will even be some breakfast fixings in the refrigerator and cereal in the cabinets. Living room and dining room are on the first floor, along with an amazing fireplace, for romantic evenings and an even more unique and amazing bathroom that opens onto a smaller porch, for an inside/outside shower should you choose to have one (you have never seen anything like this before). Upstairs there is a masterbedroom with a private bathroom, a second bedroom perfect for another couple, or the kids. The second bedroom has a full size bed, and two singles (one in a fun loft that kids will love). There is a bathroom on the first floor and another bathroom upstairs and a sunroom space with two couchs that could also be extra sleeping space.

West Pawlet is not a center for skiing, but it is centrally located to several ski areas in each direction, all within an hour. It is 30 minutes from shopping and fine dining in historic Manchester Vermont, ten minutes from food shopping and some dining options, 15 minutes from Lake St. Catherine, 35 from Lake Bomoseen. The water slide park at Bromley ski area is 45 minutes away and a large tree top ropes and zipline park at Stratton ski area is an hour away. Saratoga horse racing/Casino, shopping and dining are also an hour away. Closer by is hiking, cross-country sking, and farm/homestead demonstrations at Merck Forest Farm Center. If you like to fish, the famous Mettowee and Battenkill rivers are nearby. If you like to bike there are many roads with beautiful views, I even have a tandem bike for you to use if you like. There is a 30 mile long rail trail at the bottom of the driveway that is perfect for biking away from any cars. Horseback riding, hiking to the top of various mountains (one to two hour hikes) to see views of the surrounding towns. There are farmers markets in many of the surrounding towns for some local produce or crafts. Or simply take a cold drink out on to the porch and relax. Come enjoy the best of Vermont.

Why can't I call Rick (the owner) before booking?

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Rick (the owner) a message.

If Rick (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
