Due to the rule of 6 being in place at this time, our maximum guests will be 6 whilst this rule is in place. Also an address of the lead guest wil be taken to follow track and trace rules.

Hideaway has 4 bedrooms that accommodate 8 guests and has a sofa bed in the separate games room that can accommodate an extra 2 guests. This means that the house can comfortably accommodate a maximum of 10 guests

Hideaway was one of the original wooden holiday chalets built on the banks of Rudyard Lake and has recently been rebuilt to provide a modern, efficient and comfortable retreat, retaining it's ability to blend into it's secluded and beautiful woodland surroundings.

Reacliffe road forms part of the Staffordshire way which is a popular walking area. Hideaway is within walking distance to Rudyard Lake visitor centre with its tearoom, pleasure boat and small passenger steam train. Many attractions within the Staffordshire Moorlands are close, including Alton Towers and the Peak District.

The house is built over three levels. There is off road parking for three cars, adjacent to Reacliffe road, where the property is entered by the front door which leads into the second floor hallway. There are two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a cloakroom on this level.

Stairs then lead down to the first floor where there is a large open plan kitchen/living room with log burner, a further bedroom and bathroom. The large wrap around balcony is accessed from this level.

A second set of stairs lead down to the ground level. Here there is a games room with a second kitchen area, forth bedroom and bathroom.

From this level, French doors lead out onto the garden area where there is direct access to the jetty into the lake. Guests can enjoy using the lake for fishing (rod licence needed), boating, canoeing or just watching others sailing. The outdoor area also has an under balcony covered area where there is a large dining table, BBQ and Hot tub for 6 persons.

Hideaway has been decorated to a high standard that has been influenced by the natural beauty of its surroundings. Every bedroom and living area enjoys views of the lake.

For your entertainment, there are TVs in every bedroom, a TV in the games room and a Smart TV in the Living area. There are 4 DVD players in the property. In the games room there is a pool table and Hi-Fi. Wi Fi is available throughout the house.

As the property is within a sensitive area, all cleaning products are eco friendly and these are all provided and all included in the rental price. The property is equipped with everything to provide a luxury holiday whether staying for a week or short break.

The house has 4 Bedrooms, with bed configuration;

1 x bedroom with king size bed

1 x bedroom with double bed

2 x bedrooms with zips and link beds that give either 2 x singles or 1 x super king in each.

There is a double sofa bed in the games room that can accommodate an extra 2 children.

Bookings are strictly;

Monday to Friday for a short mid week break. This is a minimum 4 night stay, offered for the same price as a 3 night weekend stay.

Friday to Monday for a weekend break. This is a minimum 3 night stay.

Friday to Friday for a full week break.

Please note; mid week breaks are a minimum of 4 nights.

Due to the quiet location, the property is not suitable for groups who would like loud house parties, e.g. stag and hen parties.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

How do I edit my booking?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Jayne (the owner) a message.

If Jayne (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
